PARTY WALKER ANTHEM EPISODE 2. REALITY
Your eyes shot open, body jolting upwards and clutching your chest, gasping and panting for air. Your eyes darted around your surroundings in a panicked fashion, taking note of the inky black sky and the hall light shining under the door.
'Dad's awake..'
A knock on the door brought you back to reality.
"Hey kiddo, you alright?"
A few more deep breaths brought your attention to just how dry your mouth was. Your hand unfurling from your shirt, its trembling and shaking telling of your current state.
"Y-yeah... Just a nightmare.."
The silence from both in and outside of the house was uncomfortable. The man outside the door sighed.
"Alright, remember you can tell me if something is bothering you. I'm picking you up after school, by the way." A hand slid off the door and his footsteps got softer and softer, until the front door shut.
All the anxiety from the night you just had and your father interrupting your already short cool-off time bubbled up in your lungs. If they had been there any longer... 'Don't think about that Y/n.'
Your phone screen had been flashing since you woke up, likely messages from your friends. Glancing over at the lit screen, you saw many notifications from both their group chat, and a few direct messages.

A smile adorned your face at the many worried messages your friends sent. It was a nice feeling. An almost foreign feeling. Though you shouldn't keep them waiting; just addressing your absence in the group chat would suffice.
