SINCE BECOMING A FAMILY, VISERYS thought that family dinners were a good idea. When in truth it was just pure torture.

It felt forced. it was. And so extremely awkward. It was awkward to the point where it was just painful.

The tension between Rhaenyra and Alicent was high. And very obvious to everyone - except Viserys.

He sat unbothered and gorged on his chicken, which disgusted Daenys. Who herself was either staring daggers at Otto, who according to Viserys was family and being disgusted by Viserys's eating and his obliviousness to how much nobody except for him and Otto wanted to be there.

Daenys understood Rhaenyra's anger, she really did.

However she thought that Rhaenyra only directing her anger in one direction - Alicent, was very shortsighted. Their fathers deserved that anger more than Alicent.

Alicent was pawn and Rhaenyra failed so see that. She was sad and hurt by Alicent's supposed betrayal.

Daenys, lost in her thoughts, trying to escape the stiff situation stared down at her plate. She wasn't hungry. Especially not around this table.

The young queen, dressed in Targaryen red cleared her throat, "Husband, may I be excused. I feel quite ill." She said in a low voice as she leaned closer to her husband but not in a romantic lustful way, she insteed looked stiff and like a bad actress at the role she had to play.

"Of course my wife." He said, not looking at her once.

The heavily pregnant Alicent stood up, with struggle before waddling of to her chambers. She was due very soon.

Daenys had made the observation that after Alicent started to look pregnant Viserys lost interest in his childbride. Which was pathetic, Daenys thought that a man should especially give his full attention to his wife when she was carrying a child for him. But the men in Westeros didn't seem to share her ideas.

The very next morning Alicent was in labour.

Her screams could be heard through out the Red Keep and the horrors of the day Aemma died realived in Daenys's head.

What broke inside of Daenys was that Alicent was all alone. She had no mother, no sisters and she didn't have Rhaenyra. Alicent didn't cry for her husband like most women did when in labour, she cried for Rhaenyra.

"Rhaenyra!" The young girl screamed.

"Rhaenyra please!" She begged.

But Rhaenyra stood frozen in her chambers. It was like she physicaly could not move. Not an inch. No matter how much she wanted to.

Daenys was sitting in Rhaenyra's bed - looking at her sister with a puzzeld expression.

Rhaenyra looked back at her, as if she was asking with her eyes what to do.

"Please, Rhaenyra please." Alicent once again pleaded. Rhaenyra twitched.

It felt like forever but it was only 20 minutes later and Rhaenyra had made it to the entrance of the room where Alicent was giving birth.

"You are doing so well, your grace, so good." The midwife said, trying to comfort the young girl who was terrified and in pain.

Alicent tried to force a smile to the like woman helping her but she could barely bring herself to do so. Her eyes then moved over to the door, where Rhaenyra stood, hugging herself. The scene made her uncomfortable and it brought back a lot of painful memories.
