chapter - 19

FRIDAY COOKING CLASS

I walk into cooking class, I see Gemma and Johnny at our table and I walk over and take a seat.

"Your going to the dance with Malachi!?" Gemma announces, grabbing my hands in excitement.

"Yes!" I squeal back as I grab her hands. I hear Johnny scoff.

"what's up with you?" Gemma asks him, and he shakes his head and rolls his eyes.

"nothing. I just hate Malachi" he groans.

"sucks for you." I laugh.

I don't know who he thinks he is talking about Malachi like he's better than him or something.

"are you coming to the party?" Johnny asks, changing the subject.

"yeah probably, how about you Gemma?" I ask her and she nods.

We get a free period in Cooking today because of the dance tonight for some reason, so we spent the remainder of the class talking about our dresses and the after party.

GYM CLASS

I walk into Gym and I see Malachi talking to the teacher, once he's done he sees me and walks over to me.

"hi Gigi," he smiles, "how was cooking?" he asks.

"good, good." I smile.

"johnny won't shut up about you" I say, "he really hates you."

"ugh i hate that kid, he's so fucking annoying" Malachi groans.

"i know you do, but he's not that bad," I try to lighten the mood and he gives me an 'are you serious?' look. I shrug my shoulders.

"so what's the deal, Stone and I are picking you and Keira up from your house at 7?" Mal asks.

"yeah that should work. Are we going to the Johnnys party?" I ask.

Malachi rolls his eyes, and sighs, "yeah sure, just, I don't want to talk to Johnny."

"fine by me." I shrug and we go sit down on the bleachers.

"we need to make sooo many couple tiktok's, please!" I beg and he laughs, "yes of course" he smiles at me, his brown eyes lighting up.

We spend the rest of Gym sitting on the bleachers and talking.

I walk back to my locker and finish packing up my stuff, a cheery blond approaches me, "ahhh i'm so excited!" she announces and she grabs my hands and jumps up and down.

"me too!" I squeal, we lock arms as we walk out of the school towards Keira's car. She gets in the front seat and I get in the passenger seat.

We drive back to my house, greet my parents and run up to my room. I flop on my bed and lay there for a moment.

"can we nap before?" i ask, feeling tired from the previous night.

"no. get up. you smell, shower" she states, pulling me up.

"do i really smell?" I ask.

"no. just go shower so you can be fresh." she nods and I walk into the bathroom.

I run a shower and wash my hair and body. keira showers after me.

I walk out in a towel and go into my closet, I pull out the glittery light blue dress and lay it out on my bed.

I pull out my hair dryer and plug it in to the outlet, I style my hair and Keira steps out of the  bathroom in a towel.

"are we making a transition video with the guys?" she asks excitedly.

"yes!" i squeal as i finish styling my hair and keira goes and does hers.

We do each-others make up and get into our dresses, we finished everything and the time was now 6:30 PM.

We take a few pictures with each other, and watch tiktok until we hear the doorbell.

MALACHIS POV:

after putting on my suit, Stone and I go to Giovannas house, I ring the doorbell and her mom answers it.

"Hi! you must be Stone and Malachi?" she questions and we both nod.

I put my hand out, "yes, i'm malachi and that's stone" i point at the boy next to me.

"it's so nice to meet you," she shakes my hand and smiles, "you aswell." she gestures for us to step inside.

"the girls are upstairs, they will be down in a minute." she says, walking into the kitchen, leaving me and Stone in the entry way.

I hear two pairs of feet in heels clicking down the steps, two girls in blue dresses emerge down the stair case and walk down. I hope my mouth didn't drop like I thought it did when I saw her, she looked stunning.

She had a cheery smile painted across her face as she stepped down each step, it was like a scene straight out of a movie. One of the cheesy RomComs that leave you in tears.

"you look amazing" I said as she got to the bottom step and walked up to me.

"as do you"

I gave her a bouquet of flowers I had picked up on my way here.

"thanks mal" she smiles at me and takes the flowers.

"you look stunning" i forgot i said that like 5 seconds before because my minds now working with how amazing Gigi looks.

She giggles, "you just said that but thank you" she smiles.

"i did? oh." I shrug and laugh as well.

Stone and Keira hug. Her mom walks back in with her phone and says, "kids stand by the stairs, we need to take a photo"

Keira and Gigi stand next to eachother and Stone and I stand to the right and left of them.

Her mom holds up the phone and snaps a photo of all of us.

"you guys look amazing," she compliments us all and gives her daughter a kiss and keira a hug.

"Keira, and Gigi, you guys have really grown up" she says, wiping tears.

"I remember when in second grade, Keira came home with Giovanna, and they have been inseparable since"  she tears up again.

"your spending the night at Keira's, Giovanna?" her mom asks.

"yes," Giovanna smiles.

After talking for a few other minutes we all say goodbye and head out to Stones car.
