Chapter 5

BORUTO POV

"Wake up, Bolt. You have to go for your mission." I vaguely heard mom's voice.

I opened my eyes a bit, "What time is it?"

"It's 4 am, sweetheart. Come on, get change and prepare your stuffs." mom pulled my arms up.

I sat up, rubbed my eyes, "Thanks, mom." She smiled and went outside my room.

I went to the bathroom with towel on my shoulder, take some cold shower to wake me up, and get dressed with my usual attire. I took my pouch from the desk, checked inside, Hm, kunais ready, shurikens, I think it's enough. I closed my pouch, put it on my waist, and went downstairs. I found mom and dad sitting together at the dining table. "I'm going, mom, dad." I made my way to mom, kissed her cheek, and just smiled to dad.

Dad suddenly stood up and approached me, now he's standing right in front of me. I must say, he looked tired and worried, he said "Be safe, okay? Just get back safe and sound. And since you're the leader of the team, bring back your comrades safe." He patted my shoulder and smiled.

"Don't worry, you know I'm probably stronger than you, right?" I smiled at him.

He chuckled, seemed relief, "I know. Give me a call if something gone wrong." I nodded and went out from the front door.

--Time Skip--

Me and my team, along with Granny Tsunade are now standing in front of the gate, ready to depart. We made our formation, started from the front is me, Sarada-chan, Granny Tsunade, then Yukio. I looked behind, "You guys ready?" They nodded, "Alright, go!" We started jumping from tree to tree.

This mission should take at least 5 days. We needed 2 days going to Orochimaru's hideout, 1 day to spend there, and 2 days to go back to Konoha. It supposed to be safe, since we all already in peace. I continued to jump, still aware with my surrounding.

We kept going until it was almost dark, Better have our break here. I stopped, the others followed and standing beside me. "Let's get some rest here!" I said.

"Why? The faster the better." Sarada-chan protested.

I shook my head, "Nope, we'll continue tomorrow at dawn. It's dangerous to go on in the dark, you know?"

"That's wise, Boruto." Granny Tsunade nodded.

Sarada-chan sighed, "Maybe you're right." Then, we all jumped down to the ground.

I approached Yukio, "Can you build some genjutsu around here so nobody can see our camp site, except us?" Yukio is one of Kurama clan's heiress, which is skilled at genjutsu only. Even though, they're not capable in ninjutsu or taijutsu, their genjutsu sure is deadly. Besides, only people with great skill of genjutsu who can get out from theirs.

"Sure" Yukio answered. He made the handseal, but I can't see what's happening around us. Though, we're sure that his genjutsu must be working.

I looked around, "Alright! It's dark already, get some rest guys!" Everybody took their sleeping bag and laid inside.

After few hours, I still couldn't sleep, so I decided to walk around. I was about to take a step when Sarada-chan called me, "Where are you going?" she said.

"I can't sleep, maybe I'll check around. Don't even think to come with me. Just get back to sleep." I smiled, she looked away.

Then, I took my steps, walking around the camp site, get out from Yukio's genjutsu range. I stopped under one tree, Someone's here! I thought. I looked around when suddenly a kunai was thrown at me. I jumped, dodging it. "Who's there?" I took my kunai, be prepared for a fight.
