╰┈➤ "stretch your arm out further, y/n."
akaashi's tone wasn't helping her situation, but she figured he had every reason to sound discontent with her current performance in a practice shoot that she was currently doing. there was a runway show coming up and the company needed a few more last minute models before their time was up which is why a casting director from that company showed up to akaashi's agency to hire his models, one of them being y/n herself.
she found it unlucky how this day was one of her struggling days, but it was bound to be since she could barely get any sleep last night. she spent the night at her dad's shop in the back half where the living area was. there was a spare bed in one of the smaller rooms and she stayed the night due to paranoia of what had taken place before her dad got home. clutching that knife to her chest all night left her hand feeling cramped and the discomfort of her limbs in general from tossing and turning for a full eight hours was even more damaging.
"face the camera just a bit.." akaashi said. she followed his words but her concentration on one order left her to lose focus on the position of her arm that she was just called out for. akaashi sighed and y/n couldn't help but drop her arm completely, ignoring the photographer and the shoot in general. "what's gotten into you today, y/n?" akaashi questioned as he walked up to her seated figure. y/n shook her head, forcing a smile. "it was just a rough night, keiji."
"you know if you weren't feeling well, you could've let me know this morning and took the day off-"
"will she be able to correct it or will i have to find someone else?" the casting director interrupted. he had been at the studio since y/n clocked in for work which meant he was observing all of her mistakes. 'not good' she thought. she almost wanted to lose her temper on the guy for speaking to akaashi as if she wasn't there, but she decided to keep her cool for the sake of the opportunity. akaashi looked at y/n, quirking an eyebrow. "will you, y/n? it's okay if you-"
"i can. keiji."
akaashi read her features, seeing no signs of bluffing. giving her a solid nod, akaashi glanced at the casting director. "i have high hopes for you, y/n. don't disappoint me." the man turned around before taking steps towards the building's exit. he did warn them that he was on a tight schedule since he was looking for models from other agencies as well. y/n figured that he was heading to the next one. "he'll be back later this week. take some time to clear your head 'til then, okay?" akaashi placed a hand on y/n's shoulder, a reassuring look on his features since he knew that y/n was internally scolding herself right now. she nodded before standing and heading over to get her belongings. she got her normal clothing before making her way to the changing room to change out of the clothes that were used for the sake of the shoot.
