winter

elodies point of view

it had only been about 6 weeks since fall break. we were now entering the cold months of winter which meant hockey, basketball season, and the phrase "summer bodies are made in winter"

as training kicked in for second quarter. starting our nationals routine preparing for daytona, practices got longer and harder. but on the other hand classes had been going good. we had began interning for the schools athletic trainer, which involved a lot of taping athletes and assisting the trainers. leo hates the idea of me touching other guys. i always have to repeat to him that it's literally for the class.

leo still hasn't asked me to officially be his girlfriend, even though we've been exclusive for basically 2 months now. we do everything a couple does but he claims he doesn't like labels. which i guess is fine i just wish he'd make it official with me

i was taken out of my thoughts by the sound of my phone blowing up. lord i need to mute these

i smile softly at my phone. these boys are going to be the death of me one day. they really are the best though. basically all i have going for me at this point

deciding to get off my ass and go work out as i am not one who is going to fall for the freshman fifteen epidemic. i slip on sweats and a hoodie, as well as my gym shoes and walk toward the door. but before slipping out i hear tates voice

"hey ellie you've eaten today right?" she asks as i stand in the doorway

"yeah of course i had breakfast this morning, i just haven't had time to get anything else" i half lied through my teeth. while i did not say breakfast i really have not made any time to fuel my body and honestly that's how it's been the last few days

"okay good i'm just making sure. make sure to eat something when you get back"

"i will. thanks tatey i'll see you later love you!" i smile as i head out the door. making my way to the athletic facility. one perk about being a student athlete is getting our own training facility, while i have to share with other athletes, i don't have to share with majority of the regular gym goers at the school

shuffling some random playlist on my spotify, i hop on the treadmill aiming to run for as long as i can. running seems to be one of the only things that can really clear my mind. it makes me feel successful and like i am working hard and no one of there to tell me i'm not doing good enough
