Prologue

"Evelyn!" My mother bellowed from downstairs.

 "You're going to make us all late!" She's always the one to worry about the time, and never about how we look. In my mother's eyes we could all show up looking like cavemen, and smelling like them too, but that's not me. I want to look and smell nice I'm not worried about how late we are.

"Coming mom! Just a minute!" I yell to reassure her that I'm hurrying. Obviously, it doesn't work because the next second she is barging through my door screaming and throwing things at me to try and get me to go faster. You know how Cinderella's stepmother made her work her ass off every day with no breaks? Thats almost exactly like me, except I actually get some breaks to eat and drink. 

"Evelyn Marie Walker why do you need to get all dolled up? No boys will look at you anyways." She says with a glare, 

"Sorry mother I will take it off." I say as tears prick my eyes...


"No, we don't have time. Just finish up and go to the car." She says with a slam of my door. I finally get done and head to the car just to be met with three glaring faces. My mother, my father, and my older brother Landon. All looking at me like I'm some peasant in their midst's, someone that's just there to get housework done or mow the grass. Which in reality that's all I am used for... They refuse to let me go to school --no matter how many times I beg-- and they barely spend any time with me on the daily as it is. --Not like I need it; I am a successful 21-year-old woman--
