The night that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named murdered James and Lily Potter. Harry and Euphemia Potter destroyed his powers, along with his body.

The war was over. But for many, the price was simply too much to pay. Friends, lovers, and families were murdered.

Euphemia was 3 years old when she watched Voldermort kill her father in front of her eyes.

Euphemia and Harry were left with a mark, a scar, a reminder of what they survived, and those marks alone, were the reason everywhere they went in the wizarding world, they would always be known as The Boy and Girl Who Lived.

Euphemia, or Effie, slept in the smallest bedroom in the house, while Harry slept in a cupboard under the stairs. Effie and Harry were hated by the Dursleys because of who their parents were.

Effie came downstairs in blue jeans, red converse, a tank top and a flannel. She rolled her eyes when Dudley pushed past her and ran down the stairs, on his way, he shoved Harry back in the cupboard and ran into the kitchen.

"Prick" Effie mumbled as she opened the cupboard door and helped her brother up "Don't worry, Haz. We won't be here much longer"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Harry asked, but Effie only smirked and pushed open the kitchen door and flopped down on a chair around the table.

"Why don't you just cook the breakfast and try not to burn anything" Petunia spat at Harry

"Yes, Aunt Petunia" Harry obeyed. Harry grew up having Lily's mannerisms, he looked like James but was a clone of Lily entirely. He let people walk over him and he never did anything to stop it.

"I wouldn't worry about it to much, Harry. You can't possibly burn it anymore than she does" Effie smirked leaning her elbow on the table and tilting her head at Petunia "But if you do burn it, Dudley will eat it. He'll eat anything"

Whereas Effie, got her father's looks and mannerisms

Vernon turned to scowl at Effie while pointing a firm finger at her "You listen here. I do not want any of your attitude today, it is my sons birthday. If you so more as say another word, I'll-"

"You'll what?" Effie chuckled leaning into her chair "Kick me out? Starve me? Go on then, Vernon. I have about 2 other places I could go. But you won't kick me out cause you get money from having us here"

Vernon glared at the 13 year old girl "Just behave today"

Effie smirked and leaned back into her chair "Of course, sir"

Effie looked over her shoulder a subtly winked at her brother with a small smile played on her face. Harry smiled to himself, trying not to laugh. He always felt protected when Effie came home for the holidays and summer, but whenever she left to go back to school, he was scared of what would happen to him while Effie was away.

Effie stood up and started to help tidy up the kitchen before Petunia would make Harry do it.

Petunia covered Dudley's eyes and led him over to the living room "I want everything to be perfect for my Dudley's special day!"

"Hurry up!" Vernon snapped at Harry while he was plating bacon "Bring me my coffee, boy!"

"Yes, uncle Vernon" Harry replied

Petunia took her hands away from Dudley's eyes, Dudley looked around at all his presents before turning to his father, in anger "How many are there?"

"36" Vernon smiled "Counted them myself"
