Chapter 10

"Diagonally!"

Effie blinked in shock as Harry went up in green flames and disappeared from the fireplace "Um- what did he just say?" She asked

"Diagonally" Arthur replied

Effie sighed "Bloody hell. I'll go get him" She said in annoyance, Molly let Effie grab a handful of floo powder. She stepped into the fireplace and yelled "Diagonally" as she threw the powder down

Next thing she knew, she slid out of another fireplace as ash blew in her face, she coughed as she sat up "Wow" She sighed as she stood up and saw Harry fighting against a hand that had gripped his wrist

Effie rolled her eyes as Harry finally got out of the grip and rubbed his wrist "Just so you know, next time you're in a strange place, don't touch anything" Effie spoke up, startling Harry

"Effie" Harry said in relief "This isn't Diagon Alley"

"It is" Effie said, walking over to him "It's just a very dark part of it. Come on" She ushered him out the door as she gripped her wand

Many wizards were huddled up against walls or sleeping on the ground, the siblings walked down the alley, ignoring the looks they got from other witches and wizards

"Not lost, are you, dears?" An old witch grabbed Harry by his collar

Effie pushed the witch away "No, we aren't" She replied bluntly before dragging Harry away, they were cornered by three other wizards and the lady grabbed Effie's shoulder "Come with us"

"Oh, piss off" Effie rolled her eyes before her fist connected with the witches face. The witch let out a squeal as blood rushed out of her nose

"Effie? Harry?" Hagrid called out, pushing through the witches and wizards that had cornered the siblings

"Hagrid!" Harry said in relief

"What do you think you two are doing down here?" Hagrid asked "Come on"

Effie and Harry quickly rushed over to Hagrid as Effie shook out her hand, feeling bruises form already

"You two are a mess" Hagrid said, looking over the siblings clothes "Skulking around Knockturn Alley? Dodgy place. Don't want no one to see you there. People will think you're up to no good"

"We were lost, I-" Harry said before cutting himself off "Hang on" He said "What were you doing down there?"

"Me? Oh, I was....I was looking for Flesh-Eating Slug Repellent. They're ruining all the school cabbages" Hagrid lied

"Harry! Hagrid!" Hermione jumped out in front of the three "Effie!"

"Hello, Hermione" Hagrid smiled happily

Effie waved weakly "Hey"

"It's so good to see you" Hermione smiled

"Oh, it's great to see you too" Harry replied

Hermione frowned "What did you do to your glasses?" She sighed, she pulled out her wand and pointed it at Harry's face "Oculus Reparo"

Effie smiled at Harry's shocked face as the cracks on his glasses disappeared "I definitely need to remember that one"

"Effie!" Silas called out, running up behind her

As she turned around, Silas tackled her in a hug, but he quickly maintained their balance so they didn't fall, Effie smiled and hugged her best friend back

"You two'll be alright?" Hagrid asked

Effie and Harry nodded "Yeah, thanks, Hagrid"

Silas let go of Effie and smiled at Harry and Hermione "Hey, Harry, and Hermione"
