Chapter 2

The next morning Effie, Harry and Hagrid were walking in London as Harry read his letter "All students must be equipped with one standard size 2 pewter cauldron and may bring, if they desire, either an owl, a cat or a toad. Can we find all this in London?"

"If you know where to go" Hagrid replied as they walked into The Leaky Cauldron

The Leaky Cauldron was filled with talking, music, and laughter. Hagrid led Effie and Harry through the crowd

"Ah, Hagrid! The usual I presume?" The bartender asked

"No thanks, Tom. I'm on official Hogwarts business. Just helping young Harry here buy his school supplies" Hagrid said

The bartender looked at Harry and then at Effie "Bless my soul, it's the Potters"

The talking and music stopped and Effie groaned "Here we go" she mumbled

"Welcome back, Mr and Miss Potter" a man said as she shook the siblings hands

"Doris Crockford" a lady introduced herself as she shook their hands "I can't believe I'm meeting the two of you at last"

"Harry P-Potter" Professor Quirrell stuttered "C-can't tell you, how please I am to meet you"

"Hello, Professor. I didn't see you there" Hagrid smiled

"Professor Quirrell. He's our defense against the dark arts teacher" Effie told Harry, Harry reached out his hand but Effie pushed his arm down remembering that Quirrell is a germaphobe.

"We must be going now, lots to buy" Hagrid laughed

The three walked out to the back of the pub and into an area surrounded by brick walls "See, Harry, you and Effie and famous"

"But why are we famous, Hagrid?" Harry asked "all those people back there. How is it they know who we are?"

"I'm not sure I'm the right person to tell you, Harry. I'll let Effie tell you" Hagrid said as he tapped the bricks and the wall started to separate, revealing Diagon Alley.

"Welcome to Diagon Alley, Haz" Effie smiled as she led Harry through all the witches and wizards

Hagrid started to point out all the shops and what Harry would get from them.

Effie already had money from hers and Harry's vault so she gave Hagrid the vault key "I've got my list so I'll go and get everything I need and I'll meet you two back at The Leaky Cauldron"

Harry and Hagrid nodded and Effy went off to buy her things

Effie walked down a dark alley, looking over her shoulder to see if anyone was following her. She reached the end of it, she saw Lance Smith, a 7th year

"Hey Lance" Effie smiled pulling out her money and handing it to Lance

"Effie" Lance smiled, taking the money and handing her a brown box that looked liked all of her other ones

"Everything's in there, suppose you're selling again this year?" Lance smiled as Effie looked inside the box

"Yeah. The Hufflepuffs go crazy over it" Effie smiled "I'll see you at school, Lance" she waved to the boy before walking out of the Alley and headed back to The Leaky Cauldron.

Harry and Hagrid were sitting at a table "What took you so long?" Hagrid asked "your dinner will go cold"

"Sorry" Effie apologized putting her stuff down and sitting at the table "I found some of my friends"
