"You mean the psychiatrist?" Talon asked me, his arms now wrapped around my waist. I nodded. The wheels in my brain started turning. The reason why she was so satisfied that she even didn't want blood anymore, we would probably find with this psychiatrist. If not the psychiatrist himself was the answer. Now it came to the question, who was this psychiatrist?
With a loud groan, I threw my head back.
"We forgot to ask what the psychiatrist's name was or where to find him." I said in an irritated voice. "Maybe we'll catch the doctor to ask." Said Talon and ran out the door. I watched him disappear. I was still amazed by the fact that I had him by my side again and that, despite the bad blood at the beginning, he behaved as he had before we parted.
Was I really allowed to live with the hope that I would get a second chance? If that was really the case, I would try so hard not to screw it up again. As I was lost in my thoughts, Talon came back in. He shook his head, which probably meant he couldn't catch up to them.
This was going to be fun. How do you find a psychiatrist that treats a seemingly depressed vampire, then leads her to her death?
"How about we lie down for the day and think more tomorrow?" Suggested my vigor. He was right, I could use a bit of sleep. I followed him out into the small hall when, at the same moment Leroy and Valerio entered from the front door.
"Back so soon?" I asked in surprise.
"I don't think he wanted us to know where he lived." Said Valerio laughing lightly. Leroy looked at us for a moment and then asked, "Are you going to sleep? "Talon wrapped an arm around my shoulder and nodded.
They wished us a good night and went to their rooms themselves.
I wanted to go to my room, but Talon gently took my hand in his, letting his gaze drift to his door. When he looked at me again, he had a questioning look. Gently, he tugged on my hand as he whispered, "Come in."
I accepted the invitation with a pounding heart.
To my surprise, his room looked cozier than I had expected. I had been in it before, but I didn't have time to look around then. His bed, a king size, was covered with the softest blanket I had ever seen. It looked like there was a cloud in the middle of the room, except that it was black. A rug took up the space under the bed, probably so you didn't have to get up early in the morning with your feet on the cold tiles. He had a wardrobe that took up an entire wall. A nightstand adorned only one side of the bed, on which stood a small lamp.
Talon let go of my hand.
I walked to the closet, opened it, and started rummaging through his shirts.
"What are you doing?" he asked when he got to me.
I took one out, held it close to my chest, and said, as gently as I could, "I didn't bring any pijamas." I whispered my words. In response, I noticed his scent had become sweeter, which meant he must have liked it.
"I hope you don't mind." I added softly. He shook his head vigorously and said, "You go ahead and change, I'm going to take a quick shower." He then bent a bit, gave me a kiss on the cheek and disappeared out the door.
I couldn't suppress the smile. It felt like a dream, but like a dream, this too shall end. What will happen if we solve the case? What would happen to us? Would everything become like before? What if everything goes wrong again? Don't let it come to that.
I pulled myself together and changed my clothes.
Now I sat there, in just his shirt and underwear, not knowing what to do next. It was dark, so I leaned forward to turn on the lamp on the nightstand, at the same moment the door opened. I quickly sat back down, but Talon whistled lightly. "Now that's what I call a nice view." He then said.
