New York- Presbyterian Hospital,

Kayra Patil was standing in the bustling lobby of the hospital, clutching a folder containing her important documents. She was here to submit them, as she had been hired a few days ago.

Lost in her thoughts, she barely noticed the figure passing by, but something about him caught her attention. His walk, the way he carried himself—it was all too familiar. She frowned and turned her head slightly, trying to catch another glimpse.

"Is it him?" she mumbled to herself, squinting in an attempt to get a better look.

But the person was standing in such a way that she wasn't able to see his face properly.

Kayra Pov,

How can he be here? I must be imagining things, as usual. Anyway, what could be better than staying miles away from him and focusing on my career at my dream hospital?

Starting today, I'll immerse myself in work and keep myself so busy that I won't have time to think about him—or so I hope. But no matter how occupied I keep myself, he's the only one on my mind.

I love him, but I hate myself even more for still loving him. I know I should move on, that I deserve better. But no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to let go of the past.

He left me without a second thought. The one who used to say, "I hate your tears," became the reason for my late-night cries for the past four years.

"Here is your ID, Dr. Kayra. Have a nice day," the nurse said with a smile, interrupting my thoughts.

"Thank you, you too," I replied, forcing a smile.

End of Pov

Little did Kayra know, she was right—it was him. Kriyansh, her first and only love, had walked past her, probably without noticing her presence.

A few moments ago,

In Interviewer office-

"Think about it. If you lose this opportunity, then you might not easily find another. This is one of the best hospitals in New York. Once the spots are full, your skills and grades will not help you get in until there is a vacancy," the interviewer said.

"It's not about the hospital. I can't work with people who make me uncomfortable," Kriyansh said coldly and stood up.

"Tsk tsk tsk. This attitude will take you nowhere, Dr. Kriyansh Patil. But because of your handsome face, I will forgive you. If you change your mind, then come to work from Monday," Interviewer said, keeping a hand on his shoulder seductively.

He jerked her off and went outside, fuming in anger. He walked past through Kayra catching a small glimpse of her, but as he noticed even, she saw him, he started walking quickly.

"Kayra," Kriyansh murmured to himself as if he wanted to stop and meet her, but his legs couldn't help but walk as far as he could from her.

Kriyansh Pov,

I was so angry that I wasn't in my senses. I walked towards the lobby where Hetvik is waiting for me after his interview. But then I saw Kayra standing there with some papers in her hands.

I wondered if she works here. I was mesmerized by her look as attractive as she was years ago. I wanted to ask her whether she works here, but I couldn't, I didn't have the guts. My heart raced as memories of being together started flooding back.

She was about to look back so I turned away quickly, not wanting to be noticed by her. Despite the years that had passed, my feelings for her had never truly faded. Seeing her again, I realized that I still loved her, perhaps now more than ever.
