Bullies and Lovers (part 2)

Description:

An AU in which the ninja are attending high school where their identities as the ninja are hidden so that they can live out a normal teenage high school life.

Lloyd finally decides to deal with Kai's bullies. Nothing the heroic Green Ninja can't handle! Right?

In this fanfic the ninja are all teenagers but are still different ages (Lloyd is both mentally and physically the age listed because of the Tomorrows's Tea), this is how old I am having them all be for this story:

Lloyd Garmadon – 15 (Sophomore, one of the youngest in his grade)
Nya Smith – 16 (Sophomore)
Jay Walker – 17 (Junior)
Kai Smith – 17 (Junior)
Zane Julien – 18 (Senior)
Cole Brookstone – 19 (Senior, was held back a year)

(Lloyd's perspective)

"Are you sure we can't skip today?"

"If you skip one more day you're going to fail the semester Kai."

"Yeah but what if we have Master Wu call them and say that we're sick or something."

"Kai, you know he would never do that."

"Well I don't hear you offering any ideas Lloyd."

"That's because we're not skipping school."

Lloyd crosses his arms as he glares at his new boyfriend. Kai doesn't want to go to school and tell everyone about them now dating. But Lloyd doesn't want to hold it off any longer.

They have already spent the past weekend getting used to their new relationship, and now that Monday has arrived it is time to tell everyone at school. Both Lloyd and Kai know that it will be easier if the school hears about it from them than someone else.

But Kai is still very hesitant, and Lloyd doesn't know why.

"Look, Kai, you and I both know that they have to hear it from us. So why are you arguing with me about it?" Lloyd asks, exasperated.

"I dunno." Kai mumbles with a shrug.

Lloyd is losing his patience and snaps at Kai, "Come on! I know you're lying! What is going on Kai?!"

"I-I just don't want them to bully you too!" Kai yells, he then walks a few steps away, covering his face with his hands.

Lloyd stands there in shock. Kai's worried about him being bullied?

"What? Why would I be bullied?" Lloyd asks gently.

"Because... because you're with me." Kai says quietly.

"Everyone bullies me, and now that we're together, I fear they're gonna start bullying you too." He continues.

Lloyd walks up behind his boyfriend and wraps his arms around Kai's waist. He stretches his head up to reach the taller ninja's ear and whispers, "I won't let them bully you anymore, it's gone on for too long and I should've stepped in a long time ago."

"Please don't get in trouble for me, I'm not worth it." Kai whispers.

"Yes you are worth it. You mean everything to me. You're the spark that keeps me going every day, keeps me fighting for this city. Don't let Brad and his goons put out your beautiful flame Kai. I love you."

Kai turns around, wraps his arms around Lloyd, and buries his head into his shoulder.

"Thanks Lloyd. You mean everything to me too." Kai says, slightly muffled from Lloyd's shoulder.
