Rainy Date

The rain outside fell onto the windows of Marcia's room. She was home alone because her parents decided to go spend time with some old relatives and told Marcia she couldn't come because she had schoolwork. Whatever, she'd think. She just sat at home and painted. She loved to paint. It wasn't her best skill, but she'd learn and grow more and more skillful.

She began to paint a lot ever since she got with Two-Bit. She always painted him pictures and it never mattered to him whether it looked like a 4-year-old painted it or a 40-year-old, he cherished it. Lots of them hung on his walls.

The night before, Marcia called Two-Bit, saying that she was by herself all week, so if they wanted to hang out at her place, it was a great time to.

Of course, Two-Bit took advantage of the opportunity.

Marcia was sitting on her couch, reading one of her mother's magazines she just got in the mail. Marcia was invested into it until she heard a knock at the door. She set the magazine down on the table bedside her and got up to answer the door.

As she was walking to the door, the knock came again, a bit more frantic.

"I'm comin', I'm comin'!" Marcia said. She got to the door then opened it. She gasped then laughed. She was met with Two-Bit, drenched in water from the rain. He just looked up at her and smiled and giggled. "Get it here!" she said then yanked him inside.

"Hey," Two-Bit managed. Marcia hugged him then gave him a quick peck on the cheek. Then she realized how soaked he was. "I think I need to dry off or something..."

"Wait one second," Marcia said, then ran over to her bathroom and grabbed a towel. She ran back with it and threw it over his head. "Here, this should help."

"Thanks," Two-Bit said, wrapping himself in the towel. "You know, I thought tonight that I could make you dinner?" He said. "It won't be fancy cause I ain't no cook, but I just thought it would be fun."

"You know, that sounds nice. My parents got a new television set recently..." Marcia hinted, knowing Two-Bit would get it. His face lit up with joy.

"Where's your kitchen?"

Two-Bit had made a big pot of Mac & Cheese. He apologized to Marcia but he didn't burn the house down, which is all that mattered to Marcia. If the house burned down, she for sure would have been in you-could-never-imagine trouble. She was told nobody over - especially boys- and to not destroy the house.

Marcia was sitting on the couch when Two-Bit walked out with two bowls of the Mac & Cheese. Marcia thanked him and held his bowl when he went to switch the channel on the TV to Mickey.

"You know, this isn't that bad," Marcia said. Two-Bit beamed because he was well known for his terrible and horrifying cooking. They ate their food with the sound of a breeze and a light rain.

Marcia had laid her head on Two-Bit's shoulder. She felt Two-Bit twitch a bit. She knew he didn't expect that, but he was comfortable with that real quick. He threw his arm around her, and they sat and watched Mickey for hours. To each of them, this is what they imagined heaven to be like.
