were there clues I didn't see?

Somewhere in the back of her mind, Taylor had already known that the brother of her dancer, Kam, played football. She was sure that he had told her at some point, when the Eras tour crew were getting to know each other before the tour begun. She had forgotten.

And so, she was much more surprised to hear it when he mentioned it again. It was early August, a few weeks after Taylor and Travis' first date, and the crew were preparing for their fourth night playing in So-Fi Stadium. They didn't focus too much during rehearsals, having performed for half a year already. Even with the added pressure of the shows being filmed for the Disney+ concert film, they just walked through the various routines, while chatting and drinking coffee to keep them awake after nights of performing. Taylor never sang during rehearsals, other than surprise songs, when she had to re-learn old lyrics she wrote as a teenager. They were halfway through Bejeweled, tiredly stepping in circles while listing off their coffee orders to Taylor's assistant, (who had earned the nickname "Goddess of all things caffeine") when the conversation came up.

"So... When do we get to find out who you've been calling between every song." Jan nudged her arm, smirking.

Taylor stared at him for a moment, big blue eyes and flustered blush not helping her act normal. "I- I am not calling anyone between breaks, I wouldn't even have time to!"

"No, not during shows! He means during rehearsals." Sydney added. "Don't think we haven't seen you sneaking off, girl."

Taylor couldn't stop blushing, but a cheeky little smile told her dancers she didn't really mind their teasing. She paused for a moment, deciding whether or not to tell them. "Ahhh, I hate you guys."

"What's his name, what does he do, tell us everything!" Tori giggled.

"His name is Travis," Taylor mumbled, as casually as possible, as they sat down on the stage to have a break and drink their coffees. "And he plays football."

Excited gasps and squeals came from all the girls, while Sam said "Oh you win. You win."

"Kelce?" Kam suddenly asked, "Travis Kelce?"

Taylor was a bit surprised that Kam knew of him, not expecting him to be a football fan. She knew Travis was successful, but something about hearing people actually know who he was excited her. "Yeah, Travis Kelce. He plays for the Chiefs."

"No way, my brother plays with him!"

"WHAT!?" Taylor jumped up, as her jaw fell. "No way... Kam, that's crazy!"

"Mhmm! Khalen Saunders, number 99 for the KC Chiefs." Kam announced, proudly.

"Oh my god! Is he O-line? Like, does he play with Trav?"

"Yeah, I think they're pretty tight!"

"I mean, what are the chances, right?"

Taylor was sitting up in bed, resting against the nest of pillows she'd built. She got out of the shower a few minutes ago, but she'd been on facetime with Travis for almost an hour. Tonight's show had gone well, and she only had two more shows before she was free for 2 weeks to be with him. They'd already hung out more than a few times, but they'd decided it would be easiest, security-wise, if Taylor just stayed with him in KC again, this time for a week or two. It was a big step so early in their soon-to-be-relationship. They still weren't officially together, but they both knew that's what they wanted, and it gave Taylor so much comfort knowing that Trav wasn't the type of guy to try to hide his feelings and act cool. He wasn't hiding that he wanted her as much as she wanted him.
