Taylor was still in Santa Clara, playing the city's final show tonight before moving down to LA. 

For the past few days, she and Travis had called every day, usually twice a day, and Taylor's rapidly-developing little crush on Travis had felt like a chain of whispers. It was all initiated by Tree, who gave Travis' number to Taylor, and after Travis spoke about the bracelet on the podcast, the major news outlets had all come up with their variation of the same headline about it. Although, without any proof, he public didn't seem to be believing the rumors of Taylor and Travis talking. This morning, Taylor was eating breakfast at the table in hotel suite, reading a long text from her buddy Miles Teller, about Travis.

Miles: Hey Tay, don't be mad but Travis just told me you two have been talking. DON'T BE MAD AT HIM! He's not the type of guy to go around telling people about your business, especially if you guys aren't even together. He just knew that me and Keleigh are friends with you and he wanted advice about how to impress you lol. Anyways I hope this isn't weird to say but I'm friends with his brother Jason so I know Trav pretty well and I can honestly tell you I think he might be perfect for you, he's literally like a male, football-playing, Ohio version of you. I know the talking stage is weird/scary as fuck but I really think you should go for it. He's a really good guy, Tay. 

Another two messages appeared as she was reading the first.

Miles: He's somehow as career driven as you and he's so grateful for all of it, and funny as hell and family is everything to him. I know everything with the english scum wasn't too long ago and ur probs still processing all of that shit but give Trav a chance. you know how much Kel and I care about you and only ever want the best for you and he is so perfect for you. 

Miles: Kel told me to add that we've been thinking how perfect you two would be FOR YEARS but you were both in relationships with the wrong people, BUT NOT ANYMORE!!!!!!!! Fly DIRECTLY to kc when you're done in cali!!!! Miss you loads xx

Taylor giggled at the clear image of Keleigh stealing Miles' phone and typing the message herself when he didn't add enough capital letters or exclamation points. 

Tay: Awwww thank you guys so much for letting me know, I didn't know you knew him! I've really liked talking to him so far and we're making plans for me to go to KC between my santa clara and LA shows bc I don't want to have to wait an extra week to meet him. I'm coming back home for a few weeks after that so I'll catch up with you both then x

Hitting send, Taylor stood up from the table and put her dishes in the sink to be washed later.

The next morning, they were on facetime - Travis was at the Chiefs facility and Taylor was in the backseat of her car, heading to the airport. 

"I just don't understand why I can't just do physio at home! Like, I'm just stretching, and the doc isn't even here! I wanna go hoooome!" He whined, tired and sore. 

"I know, you'll be home soon. How much do you have left to do, babe?"

Travis stopped moving his leg and pulled his head off the floor to look at his phone. "Babe, huh?" 

Taylor threw her hand over her mouth and started giggling. She hadn't even realized she'd said it, but she wasn't scared by it - it felt way too natural and Travis didn't seem to mind. 

"Mhmm, babe. Is that okay?" 

"More than okay. Babe."

She just let out a happy sigh and whispered, "I can't wait to be in your arms."

She just giggled and blushed. After her show last night, she'd called him to check she was still welcome to fly to Kansas City for a few days before her next run of shows began. They had both been giddy at the idea of seeing each other in less than 24 hours, and Travis had texted her this morning telling her that he was so excited to see her.

"I can't wait for you to be get here, Tay. I know it's way to early to be acting like this but I'm so excited to see you."

Her blush just grew stronger. She hadn't even met him in person yet, she so desperately wanted to be held by him. "I'll land in KC at like 12, I should go because we just got to the airport but I'll see you sooooo soon, babe."

"Alright, see you soon, baby. Have a safe flight."

"Bye Trav."

By now, she was blushing so hard that she felt like her face would light on fire. If she felt like this now, how would she be in Kansas City??
