Chapter 90? That's insane man.

Woody and I hide as we wait for the person to leave the dimly lit room, pulling the curtain closed behind her. "Harmony, honey, help Grandma close up for the night." The store owners voice rings out from a distance, somewhere in the distance. Woody and I sneak, hand in hand through the dark room separated from the rest of the antique store by an old and frail curtain.

Walking across these old tile floors, I feel so uneasy knowing who is lurking deeper in the store. "Woody, you don't expect that we will be able to face all of Gabby's minions?" The determined cowboy continues his strides right towards the curtain and ignoring my tugs on his hand.

"We'll be in and out, Y/n." Yeah, pretty sure I heard that when we first arrived in town. Now look where we are. "We've done things like this before-" Woody and I both cut his sentence off with a shriek of terror as we pull the curtains apart and see Gabby and her ventriloquist friends standing and waiting for us.

"Hello to you Y/n and Woody. I knew you'd be back" Gabby Gabby speaks with a calm down, approaching quicker than we can back away, or inch backwards. I'm to scared to turn my back on them, they might reach out and grab me or Woody. And then what? It's all over then. Scampering to our feet, Woody defensively points a lonesome pencil at them whiles holding onto my arm tightly pushing me back with him.

"You don't know anything Gabby," I growl at the doll with a jab of my finger. How dare she hold our friend hostage and threaten us. This extortion attempt is so low! Maybe if she were a better doll on the inside she'd actually find a kid to take her home, regardless of a voice box, working or not. I which I had the guts to say it to her face and perfectly blush cheeks, ugh. Honestly it's would gain nothing.

"But I do. I have heard it all Y/n." Forky is too friendly for his own good. "Woody, you were left in the closet, feeling useless, wondering if you'll ever get played with."

"We're not leaving without Forky."

"Can we agree on just one thing?" Gabby Gabby continues to step one foot in front of the other towards us.

"What?" Woody snaps at the doll and her sickly calm tone.

"That being there for a child is the most noble thing a toy can do." She's right but I don't see why any of that matters currently. I mean, yes but what's the point in saying such things in a moment like this. Especially while threatening and trying to force us into a trade. Woody and I both acknowledge what she said with a smile "okay" before she continues. "I was defective right out of the box. I can only imagine what it must have been like for you. All that time you spent with Andy, riding a bike with him for the first time, comforting him when he skinned his knee, proudly watching him grow up." Gabby lists all the special and important little things that made being Andy's toy so worthwhile, and some thing inside Woody changes. I can feel it in his grip on my hand as Gabby steps right up to us. " And then you got a second chance with Bonnie, giving her comfort when she's scared at school, helping her when she needs it most. You've been there through all their ups and downs. Please. Be honest with me. Was it as wonderful as it sounds?"

"It was." Woody agree as.

Gabby Gabby stands right in front of us, know with the pencil lowered from her torso "All I want is a chance for just one of those moments. I'd give anything to be loved the way you have."

Something tells me deep down that Gabby needs a chance. And I know that Woody believes this too. His head drops in through as his eyes skim the floor. This is such a big ask and honestly int he beginning... it wasn't approached very well. But now, I think it's time we face this challenge and fix it right here. The most noble thing you can do is be their for your kid, but how do to do that without a kid at all?
