Eight: Season 1

Episode 10: Escape!

*Author's Note: About 6 months have passed (in Kueria time; 6 years in Earth time) since Jade and Kirishima were captured by Dr. Mort and the remaining Ark residents. They've been getting violently tortured psychologically, spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and sexually nonstop, 24/7. The residents of Arcadia still work to save them, but have been unsuccessful thus far.*

  Shoto-
  "I'm in! Finally! I'm in!" I exclaimed, looking at options.
  "Ok...let's cause some mayhem." I said, cracking my knuckles and rapidly typing on the laptop.

  Dr. Mort-
  "Warning! Warning! Oxygen depleted! Warning! Warning! Containment beach! Warning! Wanting! Structural integrity damaged." The automated voice said.
  "What is going on! The Ark is going insane!" Slade shouted.
  I roared in frustration. "Throw those two in the lab cells and let's figure this shit out, quickly!" I yelled, and that's what they did.

  Jade-
  They threw us into the lab cells like rats or monkeys. Our hands and ankles were cuffed with high tech cuffs and we still had the electroshock collars on. "Hey Jade..." Kirishima began, weakly.
  "Hmm?" I asked, coughing.
  "We're gonna die up here...aren't we?" Kirishima asked.
  "No...no we're not. This is...our chance." I said, shaking my head.
  "How are we...supposed to...escape?" Kirishima asked.
  "I stole...Blake's key card...and...Slade's gun." I said.
  "No way!!" Kirishima exclaimed.
  I released my cuffs, collar, and the cell. I grunted and dragged myself to Kirishima's cell, doing the same for him, my body shaking. We both put on patient clothes, I gave him the gun, and we held each other up. I pressed Blake's keycard, covered in my blood, onto the touchpad and we slowly and painfully limped towards Section 08, the closest section...where the eight of us were originally held, experimented on, and tortured. "HEY STOP THEM!!!" A guard shouted, and they all shot at us.
  "DON'T LET THEM ESCAPE!!!" Another guard shouted.
  "Ah!" I exclaimed, putting one hand up as Kirishima and I ran and ducked, while he fired at them.
  We got to Section 08 and I closed off the section, using the master code.
  "Ok! So...what now?" Kirishima asked, pulling back the slide on the gun.
  I leaned Kirishima against the wall as he held his right rib cage. "I just...need 5 minutes." I said, taking pained breaths.
  Kirishima checked the magazine on the pistol and sighed, checking the cameras. "You have 1." Kirishima said, strained.
  "Shit." I said, as I quickly worked on one of the other cryochambers, fingers and hands shaking, in Section 08 that weren't any of ours (Shoto, Jade, Hanta, Kiri, Bakugo, Yo, Tetsu, & Midoriya's) since those were all on Kueria.
  "Jade!!!!" Kirishima yelled, as the doors rattled and he held the gun.
  "Almost...almost...almost...got it! I got it! Get in!" I shouted, breathing in short breaths, and we both climbed into the cryochamber, closing the top.
  I had rigged the control panel to open the air lock and explode the entire section as soon as the doors opened. "We are gonna die in here." Kirishima said.
  "No, I turned this into an escape pod." I said, breathlessly.
  "What!?" Kirishima asked, and the doors opened as we were shot from The Ark and the entirety of Section 08 blew up.
  "Hang on!" I yelled, and we gripped the sides of the crypchamber as we flew into the atmosphere of Kueria and crashed down in one of the ocean bodies.
  We were temporarily knocked unconscious, but awoke in the middle of an ocean. "Did that just shoot us from space!?" Kirishima asked.
  "Yeah." I said.
  "Ok, great. Except now...we're in the middle of fucking...NOWHERE!!!" Kirishima yelled.
  "I can get the PA mic system on the cryochamber to work as a radio to contact Arcadia on a secure line that Dr. Mort and the others can't hear or access in any way, shape, or form." I said.
  "Do it fast, cause I think we're in Raider territory." Kirishima said, looking around.
I nodded, rewiring the PA system completely. "Should we speak in code?" I asked.
"It wouldn't hurt." Kirishima said.
"Base, this is Raven...do you copy?" I asked, static.
"This is Raven calling, Base do you copy?" I asked, more desperately this time as Kirishima and I held hands and I kept trying.

Shoto-
I was away from the shack to check on everyone and everything, and when I headed back to the shack. "Please is anyone there!" I heard a familiar voice, crying.
"Jade?" I thought.
"Base...is anyone there! It's Raven!" Jade begged even more desperately.
"Raven this is Eagle...I'm here." I said, my voice breaking.

Jade-
I took a deep breath and pushed my eyes into my forearm, lifting my head up, crying. Kirishima took a deep breath and put his hand over his mouth and nose as he began to cry. "We did it." He said.
"We did it." I said, leaning into his chest, hugging him as we cried.
"Raven...is Crow with you?" Shoto asked.
"Yeah. I'm here." Kirishima said.
"Thank the Gods." Shoto said.
"What's your location?" Hanta asked.
"Uh..." I began, looking around, and then looking at the coordinates on the screen. "Due south of where Base is." I said.
"Shit." Shoto muttered.
"Can you guys walk?" Hanta asked.
"Barely." I said.

Shoto-
I let go of the button. "They aren't gonna be able to make it very far if they can barely walk, especially not in Raider Territory." Hanta said.
"I know." I said.
"Base?" Jade asked.
"We're still here." Bakugo said.
"What do we do, Shoto?" Yo asked.
"I—" I began.

Jade-
"Why are they taking so long to answer? What's happening?" Kirishima asked.
"I know why...Shoto can't risk sending anyone into Raider Territory. If he does, it'll just be a fight that we can't win and he'd be risking unnecessary innocent lives. They can't get to us until we get into neutral territory." I said.
"The Druids? You seriously want to try and make it all the way to Ember Grotto like this!?" Kirishima asked.
"We don't have a choice." I said, and Kirishima sighed.
"Eagle...I know what you're thinking right now. You don't have to explain. Crow and I...we're gonna try and get to Vega so—" I began.
"No, no! You two can't hardly move. You stay put...I'll figure something out." Shoto said.
"Eagle...it's ok." I said.
"Raven I—" Shoto began.
I smiled. "It's ok, tell me when we get home. Raven out." I said, and I hung up.
We got into the water and swam to land. We destroyed the cryochamber and that immediately alerted the Raiders. "Ochak! Ochak! (Here! Here! In Raider Speak)." A man said, as they surrounded Kirishima and I.
We both put our hands up and they came to us, and tied our ankles and wrists to a rope with one man on the end and another man in front. Kirishima and I exchanged a nervous look.
