Eight: Season 1

Episode 15: A Broadcast From Arcadia!

  Shoto-
  I got up at 3am, did my run, workout, ab circuit, martial arts training, yoga, and meditation. I showered and change clothes. I walked out to the town center. Breakfast had been started in the kitchen and right on cue, my four head Nightwatchers came to me. "So, how was last night?" I asked, my arms folded over my chest.
  "Everything on the east side was clear." Sato said.
"West side was clean all night too Captain." Shoji said.
"South side was clear." Tokoyami said.
"The north facing side had a few Raiders scouring around. Not sure what they were looking for, but we brought them in." Ojiro said.
"Ok, report your findings to Shinso and the Daywatchers. Then go get some rest." I said.
"Sure thing Captain." They all said, walking off.
"Here are the morning reports Captain." Momo said, handing me the paper.
I read through them. "Have we increased the amount of game we're bringing in? Winter months aren't far we need to start bringing in more food." I said.
"Understood, I'll let Koda know." Momo said.
"Thanks Momo." I said, reading over the report.
I placed it in the file cabinet in the tower and went to the massive doctor's hut. I walked in. "How's everyone doing?" I asked.
"Healing up just fine. They should all be fully recovered by tomorrow." TC said.
"I'm just glad everyone is doing ok." I said.
"Luna, I'm gonna go talk to Shoto." TC said, kissing her lips.
She nodded, hugging him, and then the two of us walked out. "The other camps...how many were there?" I asked.
  "Eight, including ours." TC said.
  "Eight Azure settlements? Do you happen to know who's in charge at any of them?" I asked.
  "I sent spies in, they gave me lists and the people on top are the leaders...like you." TC said.
  I took the eight lists and looked, I gasped seeing the name of the tribes with the leaders beside them:

Warrior/Dragon Tribe: Shoto Takami
Shiketsu's Wrath: Inasa Yoarashi
League of Darkness: Tomura Shigaraki
V.I.L.E: Akuma Shigaraki (AFO)
Royal Dynasty: Enji and Rei Todoroki
Pro Hero Tribe: Toshinori Yagi
Hell Tribe: Jax Jareau
Angelic Tribe: Seraph

  "First Dr. Mort on The Ark, now all of this?" I asked.
  "You can always call a meeting between the leaders of the Azure Camps." TC said.
  "I have to talk to some people first, then and only then will I do that." I said.
  "Ok." TC said.
  I took a deep breath, holding the lists. "Thank you TC." I said.
  "Sure Captain." TC said, and he went back to the hut.
  As the sun rose, everyone got up and we all got our rations and ate. Hanta and Yo brought Gray, Tamaki, Kenzo, and Merdax to the dining hall for their rations.
  Jade walked over to me after we ate. "You ready for this?" Jade asked.
  "Yeah." I said, Bakugo, Yo, Hanta, Kiri, Tetsu, and Midoriya beside me.
  "You sure you don't want one of us to go down there with you?" Hanta asked.
  "I'll have Jade, we'll be fine. You guys just stay up here and watch. Gray, Kenzo, let's go." I said, and they nodded as I grabbed a lantern leading the front and Jade grabbed a lantern trailing up the back.
  We got into the catacombs and the torches turned on when I flicked my wrist and lit them with my fire. Jade and I hung our lanterns and we stood in front of the cage where they had just finished their breakfast. "Waka'ta yuka?" One asked.
I looked at Jade. "He's asking who you are." Jade said.
"Can they understand me?" Shoto asked.
Jade sighed. "Cakta yuka utka'hek (can you understand him in Raider speak)?" Jade asked.
They looked at each other and nodded. I nodded back. "My name is Shoto, I'm the leader of the Azure People." I said.
"Ifka uts infak'ta yuka s'ket'eka, yuka wiska'kt recivat ut." A man said.
"He said...if it's information you seek, you will not receive it." Jade said.
I sighed. "We should torture them." Gray said.
The Raiders shifted uncomfortably when Gray said that.
"What! No! Are you crazy!? We don't do that here!" I shouted.
"But it would heed better results than this." Gray said.
"I could whip up a truth potion for you." Kenzo said.
"Oh my God!" Jade and I shouted, looking at them.
"We don't torture or...or poison people here! If you can't respect that, then I will have Hanta and them take you both back up." I said.
"Sorry." Gray said.
"We will let you finish." Kenzo said.
Jade and I exchanged a look and exhaled. "My friends want to torture and poison you...I don't want to do that...but if we have too..." I began, and Jade nodded. "Then we will." I said.
I took a deep breath and sighed. "Look, I don't want anymore people getting hurt, mine or yours or theirs. I just want to know if there is a way Oshta'auk can help us resolve this without any violence. Avoid casualties on all sides." I said.
"Your people started this fight when they barged into our territory and tried to take our children!" A man shouted.
"What!?" Jade and I asked, confused, and the Raiders looked at us confused, and so did Kenzo and Gray.
"This was not you?" A man asked.
"No, we just rescued the remaining survivors from The Ark and saved two of my people." I said.
"I see we just assumed..." a man began.
"Damnit." I said. "Hanta! Yo! Bakugo! Kiri! Tetsu! Midoriya!" I yelled, and they all ran down.
"Yeah Captain?" They asked.
"Take Kenzo, Merdax, Gray, and Tamaki to their cabin. Also, take these people to a cabin to shower." I said.
"You bet." They all said.
"Jade, with me." I said, and Jade nodded.
We all left. "What are you gonna do?" Hanta asked.
"Something I probably shouldn't." I said.
"Care to tell us?" Yo asked.
"I'm calling all clan heads to Arcadia." I said.
"What!?" They all asked.
"We have a common enemy now and that's something we need to discuss as Kuerians because whether we like it or not Azure is now a part of Kueria." I said.
"But I just...I don't understand." Bakugo said.
"TC told me that there were seven more Azure settlements with leaders. All of which hate the eight of us. I don't care, but Dr. Mort is abducting kids from other settlements. He's our common enemy." I said.
"Ok fine...but what makes you think the other clan heads will come?" Kiri asked.
"They will." I said.
"This is insane!" Midoriya shouted.
I gave them the lists and they all gasped. "You're kidding! Seriously!?" Tetsu asked.
"Shoto, you realize this means everyone will know who you are right?" Jade asked.
"If it keeps a war from breaking out and stopping a monster, I don't care if everyone knows who I am and maybe...maybe they'll pick someone else to lead." I said.
"Shoto!" We all shouted.
"This is my decision." I said.
"This is...a lot." Tamaki said.
"He's making the right choice." Gray said.
"If after this your people replace him as your leader, then you're all truly doomed." Kenzo said.
"Agreed, Shoto is exactly what he needs to be." Merdax said.
"That's just it..." Bakugo began.
"We don't want to replace him." Hanta said, and we all nodded.
"How bad can his true identity be?" Gray asked.
"To you guys, it won't mean anything...but to our people...it'll mean everything." Yo said, clenching his fist.
We all got to the shack. "Jade, I need you to broadcast a message to all of Kueria." I said.
"You want me to send a message to the whole planet! That's...Shoto that's a huge ask." Jade said.
"If anyone can do it...you can." I said.
Jade nodded and messed with the radio. "Ok, we're broadcasting on all frequencies. You're good to speak Shoto." Daeva said.
I nodded. "People of Kueria, my name is Shoto Todoroki. I am the leader of Arcadia and the youngest son of Enji and Rei Todoroki. I am sending this broadcast to call all leaders of all settlements of Kueria to meet at Arcadia. I have important things to discuss regarding a common enemy! This enemy has been mistaken as my people, but it's not us. If you need to bring guards do it, but I don't want armies here. We mean no harm, I promise." I said, and Jade nodded. "Please, I just want to talk." I said, and Jade smiled at me.
