Iris skips down the halls as she reaches the Great Hall. Lunch. She thinks, a happy smile spreading across her face. She enters the room and is greeted by many students smiling and waving at her. She waves back, finding the kids adorable. She walks up to the teacher's table and seats herself next to McGonagall who is, unfortunately, sitting next to Severus.

"Carrow," McGongall says with a smile. "It seems your students love you."

"I think so," Iris responds as she grabs a bunch of grapes. She pops some into her mouth before leaning on her chair and chewing. "The kids here are so nice. Mostly, respectful. But some like Malfoy might be a problem. Potter too. They have this sort of rivalry, I can sense it."

"Sense it?" Snape questions as he furrows his brows.

"Yes, Severus," Iris replies, rolling her eyes, and throwing a grape at the man.

"Sense. Some people can pick up social cues. You've got a problem?"

"No, I suppose you fancy yourself an esteemed master in the art of 'social cues." How could I argue with a self-proclaimed expert," The man replies, catching the grape the girl threw in his hand. Iris rolls her eyes at this. "You might want to stop rolling your eyes. They might get stuck."

Iris sticks out her tongue to the man before leaning back onto her chair and huffing on a strand of hair.

Reason 4 to Why Iris Hated Snape. He made her blood boil.

"God, you're so annoying."

"Could say the same for you,"

Iris just ignores the comment and turns back to McGonagall. "Besides those two, I think everyone else is fine. There is a kid named Neville. He's a sweet boy, but I don't know if he's going to be able to keep up. The kid's a nervous wreck!" Says the new professor, looking at McGonagall with puppy dog eyes. "Have you taught him yet? Can you tell me what to do with him?"

"No, I haven't taught him," McGonagall replies, shaking her head. "But I've been his head of house for four years. I believe Severus has taught him?"

"He probably terrified the boy so much he can't even function properly,"

"The boy will never succeed in the real world," Severus comments, picking up his knife and inspecting it before cleaning it off with his napkin. "Don't worry about him."

"What?" Iris stares at the professor in shock. "Just ignore him? Don't even give him a chance?"

"Save yourself a migraine," He says, picking up his cup of hot black coffee.

He believed he was better than everyone else

"Your coffee is as black as your soul," Iris comments, smiling innocently.

"Pity."

"Oh," The new professor closes her eyes and places her hand on his forehead, faking pain. "Such a pity, to be sure."

McGonagall continues to stare at the two as they bicker. "I never knew you knew what the emotion "pity" was." Snape retorts, turning to look at the other teacher.

"Yes, I am quite emotionally mature, unlike you. The only emotions you know how to express are disdain and disgust."

"It's because those are the only emotions I feel when speaking to you," Snape snaps back quickly.

"And you think I don't feel the same when speaking to you?" Iris gasps, placing a hand on her chest to feign shock. At this point, the students and staff all turn their attention to the arguing pair.
