inspired by Ozymandias by: PB Shelly - im so inspired so i wrote a poetical parody.

GREED

I met a wanderer, a traveler by trade

he spoke of stories, ruins seen by his eye

the leftover of mankind, dilapidated and destroyed

"the greed killed them all," he said

desert sand covered their luxuries

withering away the stone of the skeletal bone

spoke through the surface of golden ocean waves

I asked the man, "What was it that they desired?"

The wanderer looked at me, eyes wide, terrified.

labyrinth of time played its tricks

hallow silence echo of a forsaken empire

heavy air suffocated the lungs

whispers of songs, the silent melodies

"What did they not desire?"
