Chapter 7

We got into the car to go see Sandra and I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared, but not only scared to find out if I would be allowed to live with Leah but scared about moving to a new place where I know nobody. On the dive there Leah could tell I was nervous so she played some music and we had a karaoke session and it helped a lot. When we parked the car Leah turned and took my hand and said "no matter what happens I will never stop fighting for you" I was worried my voice would shake so I mouthed "thank you". We walked into the building and over to Sandra's office, before Leah could know I Sandra opened the door "Ahh Alexa nice to see you please come in" me and Leah sat on the two chairs opposite Sandra's desk in silence until Sandra said "how may I help you alexa? Andrei sorry for not being polite I didn't grab your name "she said towards Leah. "Leah Williamson nice to meet you Sandra" I could tell by Sandra face she was gobsmacked" Williamson? Are you Alexa's birth mother?" Sandra spoke "yes I am and I would like her back in my custody as social services hasn't been checking in on her and the abuse that is happening in that house, I would like my daughter back so I know she is safe and if youse won't let me I will keep fighting for her till I have nothing left to give" Leah said and I looked at her in shock I never expected that from here and I'm guessing Sandra didn't either as her expressions matches mine. "Miss Williamson you do realise it's not that simple to just give Alexa back into your care" I could tell Leah was fuming" Sandra she is being abused in that home, when Alexa came to my football match I knew she needed somebody to care for her and that's something she wasn't getting at that placement, I have fed her more meals in the past day than she's had in weeks, I have a stable income and a suitable house with a range of schools in my area along with a huge support system for myself and alexa so riddle me this would you rather send alexa back into a abusive household where she's starved and beaten or to a safe and nurturing household with her mother?" Once again I was shocked but in a good way now we just need to see what Sandra says...
