The next day, New waited for Tay to come, but Tay didn't arrive. He waited for quite a while after trying to message him and call him, but he just gave up and started to wait. Suddenly, one of the rugby players, actually the captain of the team, came and sat beside New.

Rugby Player: "Can I sit beside you if you want me to?"

New: "You are already sitting here."

Rugby Player: "Haha, you're funny. I like you."

New: "Can I ask why are you here? Can I do something for you?"

Rugby Player: "I figured out you were sitting alone and waiting for someone, so I thought I would join you. I was waiting for someone as well. By the way, hi, I'm Ohm, the rugby team's captain."

New: "Ohh, senior, you're our senior." (As he stood up and respected him.)

Ohm: "Ah, don't worry, don't worry, no need. Just sit down. We can have a chat until the ones we are waiting for arrive. I heard you're new here, the campus cutie. Back in my days, I was the campus cutie."

New: "Ohh, senior, it's not like that. I am just what I am. You must be waiting for..."

Nanon: "Me."

Ohm: "Awe, Nanon, you're here. I was waiting for so long."

Nanon: "Whatever. You must be new. Hi, I'm Nanon. Tay told me that he will be late by an hour. Until then, we can keep you company."

New: "Ohh, really? Sure, senior, sure. I'd be glad. And how do you know Tay?"

Ohm: "Uhh, you really don't know about us, do you?"

New: "I just know that you are the seniors, that's all."

Nanon: "That's more than enough. Actually, I know Tay since high school. I was his senior there and here as well. I was passing by the basketball club, so Tay told me to inform you, as you're well known. So, I knew you would be here. The cutie guy, for as Tay's phone battery was dead. So, yeah. And matter of fact, he was here waiting for me as well. I didn't know he would say hi to you before. Always trying to win, huh?"

Ohm: "Ohh, who's winning against you not anymore, huh?"

Nanon: "Ah, I know that."

As they sat beside each other, although it was weird, later New found solace in the presence of Ohm and Nanon, who treated him like his own, and they were too sweet.

New: "So, you're saying that he left you to go there alone? Haha, you're so savage, senior."

Nanon: "Of course, I would not have done that if he was not drunk. It was all his fault."

Ohm: "But I still got there after just a day. You can't ever hide from me, can you?"

New: "You two are sweet."

As they looked at each other, they broke it with a laugh.

Nanon: "Glad you can see that, 'cause many just say we are always fighting."

New: "I don't know if that's true. You seem too sweet to each other for that."

Ohm: "I guess someone gets us."

New: "In my opinion, love comes with everything—bitterness, sweetness, and spiciness. Everything. If there was no bitterness in my life, how would we live? Just like coffee, it's bitter but we like it because it keeps us going. While some add sugar in it, some drink it as it is, some add milk in it. Everyone has different choices and different colors to them, but in the end, coffee is black and bitter to begin with; we just make it our own."

Nanon: "Wow, I never thought someone could explain love with a cup of coffee."

Ohm: "True, true. I agree."

New smiled as he saw their funny faces.

Tay: "But actually, I agree with him. What he said was true, or fact shall I say?"

Nanon: "Oh, Tay, you took so long, but it was really fun talking to New. He's a great boy."

Ohm: "A good boy."

Nanon: "Really? What am I then?"

Ohm: "You're my good boy. There's a difference, Theerak."

Nanon: "Ugh, okay, okay. We'll see you later, guys. Let's go, Ohm."

Ohm: "But I wanna talk. Oh, okay, okay. Let's go." As Nanon dragged Ohm away.

Tay: "Did I make you wait long?"

New: "No, not much."

Tay: "Good to hear. Shall we get this done quickly now?"

New: "Yeah."

As they were giving their assignment a final review, Tay turned to New with concern etched on his face. "Hey, is your injury okay? Did it get any worse?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry.

New glanced at his injury and then back at Tay, offering a reassuring smile. "It's okay, just a few scratches. Nothing to worry about," he replied calmly.

Tay nodded, relieved to hear that New was alright. "Alright, just making sure," he said, giving New a supportive pat before they turned their attention back to their project.

As they leaned in to review the assignment together, their movements synchronized almost effortlessly. Tay reached for a pen to make a quick note, his hand unknowingly brushing against New. There was a brief moment of hesitation as their fingers met, a subtle jolt of electricity passing between them.

Both Tay and New froze, their eyes meeting in surprise. They exchanged a quick, sheepish smile, realizing the accidental touch.

Without a word, New leaned forward slightly, adjusting his position. Tay mirrored the movement, tilting his head just a fraction closer. And then, in a moment of pure serendipity, their heads bumped together gently.

In that sweet, unexpected moment, they both realized that there was something more between them than just friendship. And as they returned to their task, their hearts beat a little faster, the memory of that accidental but oh-so-romantic head bump lingering in their minds.with new blushing

As New settled into bed later that evening, the memory of the accidental but sweet moment with Tay replayed in his mind like a loop. His cheeks still tingled with warmth, and a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

He tucked himself under the covers, the soft fabric enveloping him like a warm embrace.

Lost in his thoughts, New drifted into a restless sleep,

In his dreams, New found himself in a world where everything seemed brighter, where laughter came easily, and where every glance from Tay felt like a secret shared between them. They walked together through sunlit meadows, their steps light and carefree, with no shadows to darken their path.

Their fingers lingered for a heartbeat longer than necessary, sending a silent message that spoke volumes. In the distance, a gentle melody played, carried on the breeze, as if the world itself was serenading their newfound connection.

But just as New leaned in, ready to capture the moment in a kiss, a distant rumble of thunder echoed through the landscape, and the dream began to fade. Reality crept back in, pulling New away from this idyllic fantasy and back into the confines of his bed.
