THE WAY FATE WORKS

FIRST DAY OF RESUMPTION

Sophie.
I was right,just like that time passed by and it was time to start school again but this time it is the last year in high school because I am going to graduate this year,then off to college I go. I put on my cream coloured long sleeved crop top with a pair of black ripped jeans and a pair of black coloured sneakers,ate breakfast and I was good to go, my driver dropped me off at school and left.
I entered the school hallways and went to my locker to put some of my books down,I was thirty minutes early. As I was putting my books in my locker, I was paid a visit by the school's principal and honestly I thought I was in trouble.
"Good morning Ms. Sophie, happy resumption" said a blonde woman in her late forties with a pleasant smile. Most people see the principal as trouble and a lame person who only wants to kill fun but who's to blame the poor school principal who is only helping our lives, with what I said you might think she's one of those prankable principals but she is not one to mess with.
She once expelled a student who put glue on her seat just because she didn't want the principal to pay a visit to her class,if she did, her class teacher would take the honor of telling the principal she didn't do her homework and she would end up being given detention. If you ask me that was crazy,she could have just done the home work instead of pulling that crazy stunt and never being able to go to any school in her life and her dad was in the military.
"Good morning Principal Meyers, can I help you today and happy resumption to you too" I said with a pleasant smile.
"I would like for you to do the honours of taking care of Ms. Autumn over here until she gets comfortable and knows her surroundings well enough" said Principal Meyers.
"Principal Meyers,what about Daniella,she can do it " I said as I tried to reject Principal Meyers request.
"I know she can do it but I want you to do it" said Principal Meyers.
"But Principal Meyers...," I said but she cut me off. "No buts, Ms. Sophie, its an order,"she said as she left for her office. "This is going to be a long year" I said outloud.
"Umm,you don't have to do it,this isn't my first school"said Autumn who was trying to help me. "It's not about you,she's trying to help me make more friends, says its healthy."I said trying to make her feel comfortable.
I take her time table from her and take a brief, I see that we are stuck together till the end of high school. "Alright,I'm Sophie Adeyemi and you're?" I asked trying to make her become familiar with me.
" I'm Autumn Tumininu Ayeni,"said Autumn. I realised we had one thing in common,we were both Nigerians.
"Since we have all our classes together,I figured I should just stay with you" I said, which she immediately agreed to.
On our way to her locker,we were hit by the school's most troublesome students,Avery and her gang, also known as the schools hottest girls. I was about to start screaming at her because she always think she could get away with her petty tricks but someone beat me to it.
"Watch it, Avery" said Daniel-my best friend as he held my hand in a protective manner. "Oh Danny"said Avery as she was trying to flirt with Daniel which she failed. He rolls his eyes and they leave.
"Sophie! I missed you so much"he said as he engulfed me in a bear hug. I always loved Daniel's hug, they were always so warm and I get to take in his beautiful fragrance of fresh mint and cologne.
" I missed you too,how was your holiday" I asked as he released me from the hug."It was great,..."Daniel was saying before he was interrupted by his twin sister Daniella.
"...I'm here and important too and waiting for a hug"said Daniella and I hugged her.
"Who's your new friend"Daniel asked curiously with a smile as he looked at me. " Autumn"I told him. "Autumn what?Autumn Spring?Autumn Winter?"he asked as he also joked around to which his sister happily joined him.
"Nah...I think Autumn Summer fits her more"she said and Daniel agreed to. They both enjoyed teasing me oh,am I kidding all my friends do. Now that I think about it,I do have a lot of friends, don't get why the principal wants to add more to the list,but the more the merrier I guess.
"Autumn Tumininu Ayeni"she told them freely as they both welcome her to the school before more of our friends came over to our side and we all caught up on things we missed out on,even Autumn.
"I'll see you guys during lunch,have to get to class" I did as Autumn followed me into the class. The bell was rang and everybody went to their various class.
