"LUCAS, DO YOU COPY?" mike asked into his walkie as he and peyton sat in their basement, "it's mike and pey. lucas?"

"hey, it's lucas." the boys voice finally came through after a few minutes of them trying to reach him

"i know it's you." mike replied, pausing for a split second before he continued, "and say "over" when you're dint talking so i know when you're done. over."

"i'm done. over." lucas said back, as peyton reached and took the walkie from her brother

"we're worried about will." she spoke, forgetting to say over until mike slightly nudged her side, "oh, right, over."

she could hear the boy on the other end sigh before saying, "yeah... this is crazy. over."

"we were thinking..." peyton trailed off for a beat, "will could've cast protection last night, but he didn't. he cast fireball. over."

"what's your point? over." lucas replied to the girl

"point is... he could've played it safe, but he didn't." she explained what she and mike talked about to her friend, "he put himself in danger to help the party. over."

"meet me in ten. over and out." lucas replied, then disappeared, the wheeler siblings smile st each other, that's exactly what they hoped he'd say

"lets go find will." peyton spoke, an eagerness to her voice

"pey, can you grab a bag from your room real quick?" mike asked, and the slightly older girl nodded, running as quietly as she could to her bedroom, grabbing a little backpack from the floor of her closet, she also grabbed a hoodie as she was in a short sleeved t-shirt and pulled it over her head before running back down to mike, "thank you so much peyton." mike smiled and took the bag from her as he filled it with two flashlights and their walkies, both of them just in case one of them died, "you ready?"

"mhm." pey nodded, taking the bag from mike and pulling it onto herself, with that the wheeler siblings snuck quietly out of the house, getting onto their bikes, as they drove, they saw none other than steve harrington climbing into their sisters bedroom window, the older boy looked over at them as they just sat there for a second, peyton was first to shake her head and keep pedaling off, mike close behind her

"i can't believe nance is sneaking a boy into her room." peyton said, with a disappointed shake to her head

"i can't believe you are sneaking out of the house." mike said back, "you're the one who always sucks up to mom and does whatever she tells you to do."

"why is being a good daughter a crime?" she looked back at mike from her bike in front of him, and he just laughed at her quietly
"it's not, it's just funny that you are willingly sneaking out and disobeying what both mom and the chief of police told us to do."

"THIS IS IT." lucas spoke as they neared the area where they told hopper to search at, which was blocked off by police tape they were definitely not allowed to cross over.

peyton looked up at the sky as thunder rumbled loudly above her

"hey, guys. do you feel that?" dustin asked, also looking up, only peyton nodded with him, looking at the curly haired boy, "i think maybe we should go back."

"no." mike stated, "we're not going back. just stay close."

peyton quickly got off of her bike as mike and lucas started into the woods, "mike, wait for me."

"come on." mike paused for a second so his sister could catch up, "just stay on channel six. don't do anything stupid."

"hey, guys, wait up." dustin said after s minute of them walking away, "wait up!" the curly haired boy ran after them as the rain got a little harder. peyton stuck to mikes side and pulled her sweatshirt hood overtop her head, and wrapped her arms around herself to keep herself warmer

"LUCILLE!" lucy sat up in bed when she heard taylor yelling for her from the kitchen, she got up quickly and ran out to her friend entering the kitchen in her pink tank top and grey sweatpants, "hey luce."

"hi taylor, what's up?" she asked, leaning against the counter taylor was cutting something up on

"i was just gonna ask if you wanted some fruit, i'll make you a bowl." taylor told her best friend, earning a smile from the brunette girl

"yes, please." she nodded, her dimples showing when she smiled widely at taylor, "when you said lucille i thought i was about to get yelled at for something." she chuckled, looking at the fruit taylor was still cutting up, "need any help love?"

"can you get some strawberries out of the fridge and just wash a few?" taylor pointed with her cutting knife over to the refrigerator as she told lucy what to do, "other than that, no. grab yourself as many as you think you'll want, i just want two."

"okay, i can do that." lucy nodded with a smile still on her lips as she brushed past taylor and grabbed the little thing of strawberries, taking out four of them, two for herself snd two for taylor, she brought them to the sink and ran them underneath it, washing them clean and then putting them in the two seperate bowls taylor was making, "there you go." she kissed her best friend on the side of her face, making the curly haired blonde look over and smile at her

"oh, by the way, we're gonna talk about steve." taylor chuckled at the way lucy's face dropped and the brunette groaned. the blonde handed her friend one of the two bowls of fruit in front of her

"thanks." lucy took it happily, going to sit on the couch, "wanna watch something?"

"you can put something on in the background, sure." taylor nodded

"do we really have to talk about this stuff right now?" lucy asked as her friend came and sat next to her

"of course we do, do you still like him?" taylor asked the girl in front of her

"what do you think? did you see me talking to him earlier." lucy looked at her like it was the most obvious answer in the world, which, it sort of was, actually.

"why have you never tried making a move, luce?" taylor asked, watching as lucy took a bite of one of her strawberries, "now you don't have the chance to, he's with nancy."

"because we've always been best friends, taylor." lucy told the blonde

"i made a move on you freshman year." taylor shrugged, "and we've always been best friends too."

"yeah, but the difference is, you and i got drunk and made out after going to a party freshman year, nothing has ever happened between steve and i." lucy told her, thinking back to the four months in freshman year that she and taylor were dating

"well i mean, he was your first kiss." taylor shrugged, wiggling her eyebrows at the girl

"yeah, in the third grade.." lucy shook her head, laughing softly, "that hardly counts. plus, he was a total like.. man whore until he got with nancy, he's probably slept with half the girls in school. i was sure if u tried anything with him it'd be nothing but a meaningless hookup to him."

"you realize you were the exact same way until a month ago, right?" taylor asked and lucy smiled awkwardly, "steve is one of the few you haven't drunkenly hooked up with in our grade."

"i was going through a phase." lucy hid her face in her hands, "i don't like reliving that time of my life, it was sort of like my way of rebelling against my parents after they kicked me out."
