"Life is unpredictable. If you want something, you have to earn it."
In my thirty years of life, I have understood that only one thinks that to survive in this world, you have to be cruel.
I signed the deal and drove back to mansion. I directly made my way to my room and freshened up. I came out of the bathroom wrapping a towel around my waist and rubbed my hair with another towel.
I wore a plain black t-shirt and grey sweatpants and went downstairs for dinner. As soon as I came and my siblings stopped their useless rants.
Everyone, including my mother Karishma, Kaka sa and kaki sa, dadi ,and my three siblings, Rajveer, Dhruv, and our only sister Siya, also came and settled on their seats.
(When Siya was born, everyone expected it to be a boy because earlier only sons had been birthed by the daughter in laws of rathores, but Siya was born. Dada and dadi of Adrakansh at that time didn't like the news of being a girl born in their family. His father also thought of a son, but after siya's birth, when he saw her, all his hatred for the girl child melted away. He loved her a lot, but his Dada and dadi still think that girls are a burden on the families and put a alot of restrictions on her, the way she should dress, talk, sit, her studies and everything.)
Everyone started eating silently, until dadi started speaking
"Adrakansh, I think now it's time. We should talk to Rajvansh's."
Not again, this! I told her that I didn't want to get married, but she never listened. Three years ago, she talked to Rajvansh's about the proposal, and due to some reason the marriage was delayed for three years, and I thought I would escape from this, but it never happened, and finally I decided to accept it, because I can't deny dadi.
"Dadi, can't we postpone it a bit?" I asked
"No! Adrakansh, you are already 30, and we have already waited for 3 years, and besides this, you also need an heir for your business. We will be going to Rajvansh's next week, " she said or more like ordering.
I hummed and continued eating while thinking about the girl I am going to marry.
God knows how might she be? I just hope she is not a gold digger, and she is no harm to my family.
Everyone had dinner, and after that, I was sitting in a living room with kaka sa discussing the deal. After discussion, I went back to my office for some work.
I was checking the presentation, and just then, someone knocked, and I gave permission to enter. The door opened, and Siya entered with her gaze low, and she was fiddling with her fingers. I knew she wanted to say something but don't have the courage to say.
"Sit, Siya," I said, and she nodded and sat on the chair in front of me.
"Um bhaiya, I want to study further," she said, and I sighed, keeping my hands on the desk and saying
"Siya, you know, dadi will never agree for this."
"No bhaiya, don't say this, please! I want to study, " she said with pleading eyes
"Siya, try to understand, you know I can't defy dadi."
"Leave dadi! You say do you want me to study?" I asked with
"To be true, no! I don't want you to go outside unnecessarily where people will gawk at you, " I said truly
"Okay then! I got my answer, " she said, and tears welled her eyes, and she left without glancing at me
I know she wants to study, but I don't want people to stare at her. After all, she is the pride of our family, and I can't let my pride roam outside. It's not like I don't love her, I do love her a lot, but she should also understand that being a girl had so many rules and regulations, and she had to follow them.
I pushed my thoughts aside and focused on my work.
I know short chapter but adjust for today.
And tell me your thoughts about
