The last 3 days passed in a bliss, and it was fun being with your family, spending your last days with your family happily.
My haldi, mehendi, and Sangeet were celebrated with great enthusiasm. A lot of guests were invited. I enjoyed a lot being the center of attention a lot.
And today, it is my wedding. I am standing in front of the big mirror in my room, cladded in a mesmerizing red colored lehenga with golden work on the lower half part of it. A dupatta hanging on my right shoulder, and it's another end tucked on the left side of my waist. Another dupatta on head.
I was adorned with beautiful gold jewelry from top to bottom. A sheeshphool adorning my forehead and my hair tied in a bun decorated with white roses. Large jhumkas hanging on my earlobes and a delicate nath, enhancing my beauty.
A choker necklace and another long necklace embellishing my upper body. My wrists filled with red chuda and rings beautifying my sleek fingers. And last but not least, anklets with bells attached to it, jingling every time I move.
I could hear the sounds of music and bursting of crackers and fireworks, indicating his family has come, and in a snap of fingers, my life would be changed.
Am I really happy from the inside? In the last few days, my mother and bhabhis have told me it is completely normal to feel like this, and it is just because I am shy.
Maybe they are right, and I am just overthinking.
My thoughts broke with the sound of door opening, I turned and saw my brothers entering.
"You are looking just like a princess, my baby," Shasvat bhai said, kissing my forehead
After him, Advik bhai kissed on the top of my head, I hugged him, feeling comfortable with him.
"What happened, baby?" he asked
"Nothing, I am just feeling overwhelmed." I chuckled nervously
"It's okay, you will be fine," he replied
"It's time to go Ayushree." Shashvat bhai stated
I nodded, and three of us walked outside, where the wedding ceremony was going to take place.
As soon as I entered, the atmosphere changed to silence. A song was playing in the background, and I stepped forward, I was having a little difficulty walking in such heavy lehenga and jewellery, but still I walked down the aisle, my anklets jiggling with my movements. My heart was thumping loudly.
I did not have the courage to look into his eyes. I can tell he was looking intensely at me, making my soul shiver. What else can you expect from a girl who was kept in home for all her life, and suddenly told to marry and live your whole life with a man.
When I got closer to him, he forwarded his large hand towards me. I, having no choice, took his hand and finally looked up.
As soon as I looked up, my breath hitched seeing him in cream colored sherwani. His black eyes intensely looked into my eyes as if he was reading me. He helped me climb the mandap, which was built at some height.
We both sat in front of the holy fire, and the priest started chanting mantras. The priest called my parents for you, kanyadaan, and now I belonged to someone else.
The priest told us to stand for pheras. I was having difficulty while standing. He grabbed my firmly and helped me stand up.
"Are you okay?" he asked in his deep voice
His voice does wonders to me, not being able to answer, I just nodded.
Then we took seven pheras around the holy fire, promising each other with our life, trust, and loyalty.
Now it was time for sindurdaan. He took a pinch of vermillion between his forefinger and thumb and forwarded his hand toward me. I was nervous as hell, I was overwhelmed with my emotions.
As soon as his hand touched my forehead, my eyes collided with his, and he filled the vermillion in my partition without breaking eye contact.
Some of the vermillion fell on my nose, and with it, a tear slipped from my eye.
The emotions and feelings I had been keeping inside me for the last two months were now spilling out.
As per the directions of the priest, he took the nuptial chain and bent a little towards me to tie it around my neck. His touched the side of my neck, and I inhaled deeply, feeling the shivers from his touch.
And with the nuptial chain that was tied around my neck, I was also tied with him.
Both of us stood up and took the blessings of the priest and our family members.
And now it was time for my departure from my own family. I hugged each and every member of my family and cried. But I didn't know for what I was crying, whether for leaving my parents or the bad feelings I was having.
Be it anything, but my emotions were not stopping from spilling out. The much j was trying to control them, more they were coming out.
At last, I met my two months old nephew, I kissed his cheeks , with my own cheeks stained with tears.
"Bua will miss you a lot, my baby," I said
I moved slowly where he was standing, and he held my hand, helped me to get inside the car, and sat on the other side with me.
"Start driving," he ordered the driver, and the car started moving
I felt some soft cloth on my cheek, and I saw him gently wiping my tears.
"Adrakansh Singh Rathore ki biwi hain ab aap, aapki aankhon mein aansu acche nahi lagte," he said
He wiped my tears while I was staring at him.
After he was done, I leaned back on the car seat, and I didn't know when sleep consumed me.
Adrakansh's POV
I was the happiest person earth today, because I got the most precious thing in my life. My wife, Mrs. Ayushree Adrakansh Singh Rathore.
She slept in no time while I was scrolling through my phone, when I felt her sliding on my side.
Her head fell my shoulder, but she looked uncomfortable. So I grabbed her from her waist and so she didn't move.
She snuggled into my chest. She was clearly in deep sleep because, in no situation, she would do it in her consciousness.
"Sleep, I will keep you safe in my arms" I whispered and pecked on the top of her head.
So so so...
