The kids were all at the playground of the orphanage, playing. Meanwhile, Siwon was sitting on the side with her laptop, immersed in her own world.
Siwon had been spending her summer break between the orphanage and the bookstore. Whenever she didn't need to work, she would head to the orphanage.
"Noona, let's play hide and seek together." Noeul, one of the boys, went over as a representative to ask Siwon to play with them.
"Sure." Siwon closed her laptop at once and left it on the bench.
The sound of a car entering the premises of the orphanage took Siwon's attention away from the kids. The director had mentioned that someone would be bringing in donations today, so she wondered if it was them. She then saw the director coming out of the building to greet whoever was in the car.
"Sorry, guys. I should go and help Wonjang-nim. Play among yourselves first, and I promise to play with you guys later."
"Okay." The kids all answered compliantly.
Siwon saw three people getting out of the car. As she walked closer and got a better look, she realised there were two men and a lady.
"Wonjang-nim, it's been a while." The lady who got out of the front passenger seat greeted the director first.
"Gyosu-nim, it's lovely to see you. Thank you for bringing over the donations again."
"It's my pleasure."
The director then turned to the two men and greeted them as well. The men went to the back of the car to retrieve the boxes of donations from the trunk as the ladies continued their conversation. They were soon joined by Siwon.
"This is Siwonnie." The director introduced Siwon to the lady. "She helps out at our orphanage a lot. Siwon-ah, this is Professor Baek."
"Annyeonghaseyo." Siwon politely bowed.
The lady looked at Siwon with somewhat confused eyes. "Annyeong, you said your name was Siwon?"
"Yes."
"Sorry, you just really look like one of my son's classmates. I almost mistook you for her."
Siwon didn't link that to the fact that she had a twin who looked identical to herself. She just took it as an ordinary remark, until...
"Eh? Ryu Siwon?"
Siwon turned her head to the car trunk when someone called her name. She froze in place, wondering what the odds were of seeing Gyuvin here.
"Why are you here?" Gyuvin went up to Siwon with a box in his arms.
"Gyuvin-ah, you know Siwon? She looks a lot like Siyoungie, right?"
"Of course they look alike. They're twins." Gyuvin kept his eyes on Siwon, still shocked. "Aren't you supposed to be in the US? Isn't Siyoung still there?"
"I didn't go."
"Why? And why didn't you tell me?"
Siwon almost intuitively said, 'Did I have to?' but she held it back.
"Eomma, she's the one who found you the book you were looking for last time." Gyuvin continued.
"Really? I was surprised at how Gyuvin managed to find the book after just a day. Thank you, Siwonnie."
"I didn't really do anything. It was simply available at the bookshop."
The director looked at Gyuvin with slightly widened eyes. She wasn't expecting Siwon to have a friend who knew about her part-time job at the bookshop. Gyuvin also looked at Siwon with widened eyes, amazed by how polite Siwon sounded when talking to his mom.
