Chapter 16: Sisterly Conflict

(A/N TODAY IS UPDATE DAY! I know its not Friday, but today I had ideas flowing and if I waited till Friday they would be gone! I hope y'all enjoy!)

3 weeks later....

Savannah's POV

It's been 3 weeks since Cole asked me out. I don't really know if I like him more than a friend, so when we bump into each other in the hallways or have to sit near each other at dinner, it makes it even more awkward. I have also noticed that Cole has been acting strange lately. He has been doing small favors for me, like volunteering to cook for everyone when It was my turn even though his food tastes terrible, or running to the store to get things Sensei told me to get. Lately, I have been trying to stay out of the house as much as possible, so I could avoid these moments, whether it was running an errand for my sisters or Sensei, or if I volunteered at shops, or even if I just went for a walk around town or in the woods, I liked being away from everything. I couldn't wait until school started, which was in 1 week. I get to see my old friends again, hang out, join a club or sport, and finally get to be away from home. Unfortunately, when I was finally celebrating, Makenna HAD to inform me that the ninja were going to our school too, because Wu thought it was important to keep a lookout for Garmadon. I have no idea how that relates to us going to school but Lloyd is also going to school so I am guessing that they have to go to protect him. Sensei Marissa made us promise her that we would help them get to know the school better so they wouldn't get lost. But I finally realized I only have to give them a tour of the school and then I could probably hang out with friends and they could hang out with my sisters and friends they would possibly make. This made me happy, because I didn't want any awkward moments anymore. While I was thinking of school, my phone rang and I looked to see that Adam was calling. I smiled and answered the phone. "Hello?" I said. "Hi, what's up?" he asked. I smiled, "Nothing much, just thinking about school." I said. He laughed. "Hey, do you wanna go shopping for school supplies today?" he asked. I laughed, "Sure, I really need to get my stuff!" I said. "Great! Ill come and pick you up in 10 minutes." He said. "Ok great! Bye" I said, and hung up. I took a shower and then I went to my closet and picked out a nice outfit of a black and gold t-shirt, ripped jeans, and a pair of black and gold Vans with a black messenger bag. I put my hair in a ponytail and put a gold bow in it. I brushed my teeth and got my debit card to buy the supplies. When I was done, I heard a knock on the door so I walked to the front door to see that Cole answered the door. Adam was wearing a nice blue shirt, nice jeans, and a pair of black Converse with blue laces. He looked around uncomfortably and then when he saw me he sighed in relief. Cole turned around and saw me, and turned back to glare at Adam. At that moment, Sensei Marissa came in and saw me standing at the door with Cole and Adam. She stopped and smiled. "Where y'all going?" she asked us. "Well, me and Adam thought we should go and get some school supplies down at the store. I was wondering if that's ok?" I asked. She smiled. "Sure, do you have enough money?" she asked. I nodded. She put her hands on her hips. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go on now, and be back before 6, ok?" she said. I nodded and with that I ran off, Adam at my heels. While I was walking I could feel some ones glare on me and as I turned, I saw Cole staring at me. I turned around and kept running. When we got to the store, we were out of breath. We entered, and headed to the stationary department. We grabbed our lists and started shoving piles of notebooks, pencils, pens, highlighters, markers, colored pencils, calculators, binders, and reams of paper. When we were done, we headed out of the aisle to pay, when we saw some commotion in the middle of the store. Curiosity got the best of us and as we walked closer, we saw a man with a long black robe, and a red scarf in the middle, on top of a box of soap, talking. As we got closer, we could hear a few words. "We are treated unfairly! We are regular people who live in the shadows of elementals. They treat us horribly and they think of themselves as the best people in the world. I think it is time that we stand up, and tell them that we want to be equal to them! Who is with me?" he asked. Almost everyone cheered, except a few people who gave him some confused looks. Then he left, and everybody scattered. Adam looked at me and we both stared at each other as if thinking. I wonder who that guy was, and why he thinks elementals are bad? We went to the register, paid, and then left. Adam went home because his mom needed him to do something at home. I walked up the hill and went to the back door. As I came in, I heard arguing in the living room. I dropped my stuff off in my room and I went into the living room. Makenna and Lilly were there, and they seemed to be arguing. Makenna's face was red and Lilly seemed calm. Makenna was yelling at Lilly, and when Lilly shrugged, Makenna tackled her and they started fighting. My big sister hormones kicked in because I ran in to see the 4 ninja on the floor, watching quietly. As I ran closer to them, I saw Makenna hitting Lilly. I immediately tackled Makenna and pushed her off Lily. I helped Lily up, and I gave Makenna an evil glare. Lily had a bleeding nose, and she had bruises on her face. I went to the kitchen, grabbed some ice and gave it to Lilly. I took her to her room and sat her down, cleaned her up, and put her to sleep. As I closed her door quietly, stomped back to Makenna, who was looking at me, scared out of her head. I grabbed Makenna's shoulders and shook her hard. "WHAT ON EARTH WERE YOU FREAKING THINKING!!!!??" I yelled at her. She cringed, and looked scared. "WHY DID YOU FREAKING HIT HER??!!! SHE IS YOUR FREAKING YOUNGER SISTER!!!!!" I screamed at her. She rolled her eyes, and gave me a bored look. "She took my laptop without asking, and I wanted it back." She said. This got me even madder. "THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU NEED TO HIT HER!!!!!" I yelled even more. She rolled her eyes again. I looked over to see the ninja looking at me, observing my every move. "AND WHY DIDN'T YOU GUYS DO SOMETHING??!!!" I yelled at them. They staggered back, shocked, and then Kai spoke, "We didn't know what was happening, and we thought they were supposed to do that.." he said stupidly. I clenched my fists. I turned back to Makenna, who was staring at me. "Why do you have to always defend Lilly? Why do I always get blamed?" She yelled at me. I was confused for a moment when I finally understood. "Makenna, are you jealous?" I asked quietly. She stopped being angry and I could see her blushing and looking down. She looked calmer. "N-no.." She whispered. All the anger Faded away. My anger left and sadness replaced it as I made my arms fall to their sides and I went over to her and hugged her. She looked surprised because I normally don't hug anyone, but then she smiled and looked really happy. "Why are you jealous? Sure Lily gets treated a bit better, but that's because she is younger. You're her older sister, and you can't go around beating her up. You have To stay there and protect her. Ok?" I said. She looked up and I saw a cross of emotions in her eyes and face. "Ok, I'm sorry. I just felt left out and alone." She said. I hugged her again and she made her way to Lily's room to apologize. I grabbed her laptop and walked into her room. I dropped it off and walked back to Lilly's room and took her vitals. After a tiring day I went to sleep, even though I was still in my clothes.
