Savannah's POV

Friday

As I woke up today, I knew something was wrong right from the beginning. I looked around to see I was in my room at the cottage. But there was something weird about it. Then I noticed a paper taped onto my bedroom door. I got up, took a shower, brushed my hair, and changed into a light blue t-shirt, faded blue jeans, and a pair of black Converse. I put my hair into a ponytail, and brushed my teeth. I walked over to the door and looked at the note. “I have a surprise for you downstairs. Love, Cole.” Oh brother. I sighed, and walked downstairs. There was no one up, but I smelled bacon and eggs. I walked into the kitchen and I saw two plates filled with bacon, eggs, pancakes, toast, bagels, and completed with tall glasses of OJ. I stared at the plates until I saw someone come into the kitchen. Sure enough it was Cole. He had on a black t-shirt, dark jeans, and a pair of Vans.  He smiled when he saw me. Oh my gosh, what have I gotten myself into. “Good morning Savannah! Do you like it?” he asked.  I just stared at the plates. “Yes, its nice.” I said. I wondered how he whipped this up. The ninja tell me that he’s a horrible cook. He smiled and motioned me to sit down. I did as I was told. “So, where are the others?” I asked. “They wanted to go look around in the village, so they left early.” He said. We ate in silence, and fair enough his food was good. After we ate, I washed the plates and he put them away. He said that he had the day planned, so I went to my room and packed my blue messenger bag with gum, my debit card, and my phone. I put on a black jacket in case if it got cold. I walked back downstairs, hopped into the car, and we drove off. Wu let all the ninja take the test and get their licenses, and Cole was one of them who got it. Kai crashed the driver’s Ed car into a pole, and Jay didn’t feel like getting one. So basically only Zane, Nya, and Cole got their licenses. Makenna is a lazy bum and didn’t get one, and Lily is too busy with her formula she has to present to this university that chose her to provide something for this machine to even think about a car. We drove in silence, but then he turned on the radio. The ride was long and we barely said anything. Once we got to the place he wanted to go, I was confused. We were at the Kensington beach. I looked at him confused, but he just shook his head and motioned me to follow.  We walked down the beach, and passed infants, elders, and young people. She smiled when they saw me, and they waved. I waved back because those people knew me. Everyone in town knew me as the “sweet, loving, Texas hometown girl.” Its true, I am from Texas. They all know me and think I’m sweet, so they are kind to me. As we walk down the beach, the waves crash and the wind blew. This was amazing. We talked and joked around for a while, then went back to the cottage. When I got there, I was shocked at what I saw. In my room, there sat 15 new canvases, lots of new paints, and 3 big packs of new brushes of all sizes. I was confused, until Cole came in. “Do you like it?” he asked. I smiled. “Like it? I LOVE IT! THANK YOU!” I yelled and I went up and hugged him. After that we watched movies and finally he went home. The others came back and dropped off Matty, and they went home too. Matty and I walked into our rooms and we went to sleep. I drifted off, thinking of all the paintings I can make….

The next day….

As I woke up, I saw I had a text from Ashley, a friend from my school. She wanted to meet me at the mall in a boutique. I got up, took a shower, and got dressed in a vintage-styled flowery tank top, faded skinny jeans, and my pair of black Converse. I put on a scarf and a fedora, grabbed my keys, and went out to the car (a cherry red and black Ford mustang). I got into the car, turned on the engine, and drove off.  I remembered to call the nanny, Yvonne, to come and baby-sit Matty in the mean time. As I got to the Kensington mall, I parked my car and locked it. I walked in and walked straight to Labelle’s boutique. As I walked in, a person tackled me. We both fell to the floor and knocked over some shoes on display. I looked up but I already knew whom it was. “HEYYY SAVANNAH!!!!!” My friend, Ashley Johansson, yelled at me. I started laughing once we got off the floor and we picked up the shoes. “Hey Ashley, so, please tell me why we are in a really nice boutique?” I asked. I’m not kidding; I don’t think I saw anything less than $100.  She smiled. “Well, you know our friend Chase, right?” she asked. I nodded my head. Chase Urban was the most popular guy in our school, Kensington Academy. He was tall, with brown hair and blue eyes that would make the ocean jealous. He was a fun, cool guy and he is really smart. He was a member of the country club, just like Ashley and I were. Since our parents are famous or wealthy, we were part of the club. She smiled. “Well, he invited us to his party at the country club on Friday, so we need to dress formally.” She said and she started jumping up and down. It finally dawned on me that I would be going to one of Chase Urban’s famous parties. His parties were legendary because only certain people were invited, and they were just so much fun. His parties were once in a lifetime. Well, this should be worth it. Ashley led me over to a rack full of dresses. “Wait, why do we need dresses?” I asked. She gave me her ‘quit being so clueless’ look. “Savannah, it’s a country club, you need to dress fancy and formal.” She said. I growled silently. I hated dresses and all the fancy shmancy stuff. But since my parents were famous, I had to go to a lot of the fancy parties. She flipped through some dresses and then found a few red dresses. She piled them onto her arm. “I really want a red dress.” she said, and then rushed into the changing room. My phone rang and I saw it was a text from Cole. He asked where I was, so I stepped outside of the store and called him.  It barely rang 2 times before he answered. “Hey Savannah.” He said. “What did you need?” I asked, trying to get straight to the point. “Umm, well I wanted to know where you were…” he said. I sighed. “Stalker much?” I said in a humorous tone.  He wasn’t laughing. “No, but I want to know where you are. For all I know you can be in a dark alley being robbed.” He said in a firm voice. I rolled my eyes. “Relax, I’m at a boutique at the mall.” I said. “Where? I’m at the mall too.” He replied. I was shocked. “Why are you at the mall?” I asked suspiciously. He laughed. “I’m here because Lloyd wanted to get a new video game and Zane and I decided to come along. Now answer my question.” He said. I sighed again. “I’m at the boutique near the Macy’s and the Abercrombie & Fitch.” I said. “Okay, I’ll be there in 5.” He said and with that he hung up. He is so rude, hanging up on people without even responding. I walked back into the store and saw Ashley looking through dresses. She had a pile of red dresses near her and she looked around in the red dress section. She finally chose one that was red, (naturally) strapless dress that was flowy at the bottom and had a sweetheart neckline. The top was sewed up to the side and there was a red rose on the side of the dress. She set it on the chair next to her and when she saw me, she dragged me over to the dresses. “Now, we want to get you a dress that brings out your green eyes. So, lets look at some green dresses.” She said, and then pulled me over to the green section. I never argued with Ashley about fashion, because she was a pure fashionista. Her mother was a famous fashion designer in Paris, and her father was the CEO of a big company in Ninjago. She knew everything that was in style because of her mother. As I thought about it, she started looking through dresses. She knew I didn’t like anything to fancy, that I preferred simple but elegant. She looked through some, and then I heard the door of the boutique open and the bell above chime. In came Cole and Zane, both looking a bit awkward in the boutique. I turned my back and tried not to be noticed, but I heard footsteps and they came over. Ashley spun around and had a confused look on her face when the guys came over. She leaned in and whispered, “Who are these guys?” she asked. I forgot that she didn’t know them so I quickly introduced them to each other. After introducing, Ashley quickly went back to looking for a dress for me. Cole came up to me and tapped me on the shoulder. “Hmm?” I asked. “Why are you in here in the first place?” he asked. I shrugged. “Ashley said that Chase Urban invited us to his party at the country club this Friday, and since it’s a country club, we have to wear formal wear.” I said like it was no big deal. But Cole frowned. “I don’t like the idea of you going to a fancy party unattended.” He mumbled. I looked at him confused. “Then why don’t you come? If you’re soo worried that something will happen, then why don’t you just come?” I whispered harshly. But unfortunately, he looked happy about my “offer”. “Okay, so I need a tux, right?” he asked. I sighed deeply and nodded my head. I think he could tell that I was a bit angry because he didn’t ask anything else and he stayed quiet. I watched Ashley look through dresses, and then she plucked one out. It was a tea length green dress with a flowing tail. It was strapless and the top part of the dress was lined with silver lining. It was simple, yet elegant. This was my kind of style. “This would look sooo good on you!” she said. And with that, she put the dress in my arms and shoved me into the dressing room. “Okay Hun, why don’tcha put that dress on and come out to show us?” she said. She was really enjoying this.. I slipped into the dress and took my hair out of its ponytail. “Lets do this.” I thought as I walked out.

Cole’s POV

When she walked out, I was speechless. The green dress made her emerald eyes pop out. Her black, wavy hair shaped her face and her pink cheeks flushed. She looked beautiful. She walked over to Ashley, who was gaping at her. Finally, she talked. “Honey, you look beautiful!” Ashley squealed. Savannah blushed. Ashley grabbed Savannahs hand and led her down to the mirror. Savannah twirled around in the mirror. “I like it. It’s not too fancy or casual. Its just right.” She said.  They both went up and paid for their dresses, and me and Zane both almost fainted when we saw the total price was $1,000. We stood there with our mouths open until we saw Ashley and Savannah staring at us. “What boys?” Ashley asked. We just stood there in shock. “T-that’s a lot of money…” I said. Ashley waved her hand, and dismissed the comment. “Boys, boys, boy.” She said, while wagging her index finger, “when you live the Country club lifestyle, $1,000 is the same as $10.” She said. And with that, they gathered their bags and looked around for accessories. We followed them and Ashley ended up buying a pair of gold stilettos and a matching gold purse. Savannah bought a pair of silver stilettos and a matching silver purse. They also made appointments for the spa on Friday. After shopping, we went home and dropped off Ashley and Savannah at the cottage. We went inside, and as I got ready for bed, I realized that since this was a country club party, I had to learn manners and all the fancy table etiquette. I slipped into bed, and I just kept on thinking. Man, what did I get myself into?
