Mishap in custody

The chopper landed as Denji and Aki finished kicking Katana man.

Several ZRS MTF operatives got out, apprehending Katana man and pulling him to his feet.

"Nice work, Chainsaw Man." Charlie Squad leader said.

"Do you have to take him so soon? We were just having fun." Denji said defeatedly.

"Sorry, Makima's orders."

"Miss Makima?" Denji asked.

"Yep." He said as he got Katana man on board, and the chopper lifted off as quickly as it landed.

...

"Yes!" Colonel Johan exclaimed.

"Excellent fucking work boys!" He yelled.

"We got through that shit with no casualties too." Captain Jansen van Vuuren said.

"Indeed." Makima said.

Everyone quieted down as they turned to her to listen to their boss lady.

"Colonel Johan, may I have a word with your operatives?" She asked.

"Of course." He said.

She stepped before dozens of men as they paid attention to her.

"I give you my gratitude to your success to the operation and I praise your abilities. They are unmatched and rightfully deserve a reward. For your contributions as well as saving the lives of several hostages we didn't even know were there, an extra five thousand will be given to every member involved in the operation. Thank you."

She turned and left as the operatives murmured amongst themselves.

Kobeni and a ZRS guard escorted Akane through the hallway to the interrogation room.

"So Kobeni, right?" He asked with a thick Eastern European accent.

"Y-Yes." She said.

"Okay... My name's Jovan." He said.

"Jovan..." She said.

"Yes." He said.

"So, we hear alot about you." He said.

"Oh?"

"Yeah, the cowardly devil hunter." He said.

Kobeni quickly turned away out of humiliating embarrassment.

"No worries, we've been all cowards at one point." He said.

"How so?" She asked.

"I was once."

"You? You don't seem like a coward." She said.

"I was, back in Bosnia." He said.

"Bosnia?"

"Yes, I was in that war. For Republika Srpska. Not my finest moment." He said.

"Oh... what was it like?" She asks.

"It was... a strange time." He said.

"Oh... you don't seem like a bad guy." She said.

"Oh, thank you." He said, with a smirk beginning to grow on his face.

A small smile began to grow on Kobeni's face as she and Jovan looked at each other as he began to smile.

Suddenly, in a flash of a white blur, Jovan's and Akane's heads where instantly removed by the snake devil in a quick blur.

Jovan stumbled headless and collapses to the ground, his legs jerking as Kobeni collapsed against the wall, sliding down as she screamed, covered in Jovan's and Akane's blood.

Makima and Colonel Johan stood side by side as the cabinet secretary sat at his desk before them.

"The operation was a success sir." Colonel Johan said.

"We have recovered evidence of the gun devil sir." Makima said.

The Cabinet Secretary sat silent, staring at them.

"Well? Where is the interrogations?" He asked.

"I have managed to question Katana man, however, not one from Akane Sawatari sir." She said, setting a file on the desk.

"Why?" He asked.

Makima briefly turned to Colonel Johan.

"Involuntary suicide sir." He said.

"Hm..."

Johan and Makima stood silently.

"I have made some considerations regarding Zero Risk Security." He said.

Johan and Makima stood silently.

"Miss Makima, I believe you have made the right call. Devil attacks are now decreasing, and security has improved significantly. Perhaps it was the right decision." He said.

Makima smiled and nodded as Johan stood silently beside her.

"Johan, you are dismissed." He said.

"Yes, sir." Johan said, briefly saluting  him before turning to leave.

"Oh, and Colonel." The Cabinet Secretary said.

Johan turned to him.

"My condolences for your man." He said.

Johan lightly nodded and turned, leaving the room and closing the door behind him.
