Lieutenant Adriaan van der Merwe and Arno van Heerden stood beside Kishibe, who had them tied to chairs in a secluded warehouse.

All around them, Devil hunters in tactical gear and rifles stood by, tense from paranoia.

Kishibe approached with a flask in one hand and a cigarette in the other.

"Listen, I won't sugarcoat it. Your boss is under Makima's control." He said.

"Huh?" Adriaan asked.

"What the fuck are you talking about? Were on your side, remember domkop?" Arno asked.

"No, you are not, you are on her side. Until I show you what is going on." He said.

"What? Who is she? Makima?" Adriaan asked.

Kishibe puffed his cigarette before exhaling.

"What I am about to tell you will not make sense. Which is why I am letting him do it." Kishibe said.

"Who?" Arno asked.

Kishibe stepped to the side when Jansen stepped out of the darkness.

"Captain?" Adriaan asked.

"Boys." Captain Jansen van Vuuren said.

"What the fuck is this?" Arno asked.

Jansen sighed before kneeling next to them.

"I don't know how to explain this." He said defeatedly.

"What is the meaning of this Captain? Untie us immediately!" Arno said.

"Not until I have your word."

"Our word? On what?"

"Shut the fuck up and listen." Jansen said.

Both mercenaries fell silent.

"Colonel Johan isn't himself anymore. I've noticed he has become... submissive, to Makima."

"Okay? Maybe he has something for her." Arno said.

"No you fucking idiot!" Jansen said.

"Makima is controlling Jansen."

"How?" Adriaan asked.

"She is the control devil. That's who she is contracted with. She's manipulating Johan."

Both mercs fell silent.

"That is one helluva thing to suggest. Care to show proof?" Arno asked.

Kishibe raised a file and tossed it into Arno's lap.

"Classified information I pulled from our database." He said.

Both mercenaries looked at the file.

"What's in it?" Arno asked.

"Do you remember that operation? The first one we performed with the task force looking for Katana man?" Jansen asked.

"Yeah." Arno said.

"When our guys pulled that shit outta that computer, we were not suppose to know what's on it. We'll, that was all the information in this file. It's Makima's contract as well as her plan." Jansen said.

"Plan for what?" Adriaan asked.

"She plans to kill Denji. She'll use his heart to consume all devils and fears. But there is a flaw. We are also in the crosshairs." Jansen said.

"Hang on, if Makima is going to kill us, why is she controlling Johan?" Arno asked.

"Because when we got sent here, the executives gave Johan a blank check because of how much Public Safety was paying us and giving us free reign. Johan has access to most of not all of ZRS's capabilities."
