NATIONAL ANTHEM
Jack followed Trevor and Cole into the New Year's party, which was hosted by Alex.
It seemed that either him or Cole were the only ones willing to let their houses get trashed by a large group of underage teenagers who were drunk.
" Hey, Emma", Jack said
The brunette gave him a not so pleasant look, " Hi",
" Where's Jade?",
Emma squinted her eyes at him, " Why? You haven't talked to her in forever",
Jack smiled a bit, " We talked the other day. It's all good now. Sorted out",
" Oh, I think she's in the kitchen. Dunno",
The dirty blonde boy nodded, saying hi to a few people while on his way to where she was. Jade stood with Alex, laughing about something.
It made his insides feel funny. Being able to talk to her again, get to hear her laugh again, which he would hear constantly when they would hang out.
" Hey, J", she smiled as he walked over to them.
" Shot?", Alex asked him.
Jack shook his head, " Later",
Alex nodded, deciding he should leave the two alone. Jade offered him a drink, " Maybe you should be a bartender?",
" Jack, I'd like to think I could be something better than a bartender",
" You could do anything", Jack complimented
Jade smiled, " Right. Cause I'm such an amazing person?",
He scoffed, " Are you gonna use that against me forever?",
" Definitely", she nodded, " Come on, we have to hangout with our friends tonight. Not just us",
After the two socialized with their group, they somehow ended up just hanging out by themselves in the living room.
" What, so you've never had frozen yogurt before?",
Jack shook his head, " No, I've never thought of it",
" That's insane", Jade said in disbelief, " We have to get you some, it's so good, I swear",
" I think regular ice cream is pretty good",
" Jack, frozen yogurt is way better. We are going, after school one day", she said, " Okay?",
He nodded, " Whatever you say",
Jade smiled happily, feeling accomplished with convincing him to finally have frozen yogurt after being on this earth for 16 years.
" Come on, countdown is starting!", Cole said as he shoved them into the other room where the large tv was.
Glancing around the room, Jade saw her brother and Emma completely caught up in each other, like they were the only people there.
It made her almost sick to her stomach, but since Trevor apparently didn't mind if her and Jack were a thing, she had to return the favour to them.
" Look at Z and Emma!", Jack said laughing.
Jade shook her head, " I can't look",
She turned around to just be facing Jack, a dramatic look on her face.
" They're cute, you can't even lie", he said as he grabbed her shoulders and forced her to turn back around.
Jade laughed, " So cute, but I don't want to watch anymore",
" Next time she's at your house, it won't be to hangout with you", he joked.
" You're probably right", Jade nodded, " Like the next time you're at my house, it won't be to hangout with Trev?",
Her eyes widened, not sure why she said that. Jade never says stuff like that, usually Jack is the one that says bold things randomly.
" I don't know why I said that, sorry",
Jack smiled and shook his head, " No, you're right. Next time I won't be there to hangout with Z",
Jade nodded, a small smile on her face. " I'm gonna go get another drink",
" Wait, the ball drops in like 15 seconds", he said over everyone as they loudly counted down the seconds on the tv.
The girl stayed beside him, keeping her eyes on the tv. She could feel Jacks stare on the side of her face, but she was too nervous to look over at him.
" Are you seriously not gonna let me kiss you on new years?", he said in a somewhat joking tone.
Jade turned, " You're choice",
He nodded, bending down slightly to attach his lips onto hers. Jade practically melted into the kiss, her hands cupping his cheeks.
When he finally pulled away from the girl, Jade just grabbed the back of his neck to press their lips together again.
Jack laughed a bit into the kiss, Jade eventually pulling away from him.
" Someone is eager", he teased.
Jade scoffed, " Shut up, J",
