"Mr-mr. Malik...", she called after finally gathering some courage.
They have been on their way to her house for a while now, he didn't even ask for her address. She wondered if he even knew about it or was just randomly driving to somewhere.
But the thought seem stupid, he was her father's best friend's son, he might have visited her house sometime, maybe.

Her attention directed to him when he hummed at her calling, glancing at her once then looking forward again. All the lines she had rehearsed were now stuck in her throat, not having the courage to speak to him.
"Uhm.. I-I am,", she cleared her throat when she felt herself stuttering, "I am sorry for the other day, in the office. I really am! If only I knew it was yours", refering to the cabin," I would not have gone there. I was just tired and there was still some time left before the fashion show... Uhm, uncle, I mean your dad, Mr. Malik.. senior?", all she wanted was the earth to swallow her whole for calling his dad Mr. Malik senior. Like who even says that?
"I mean, he asked if I wanted to, you know, take a nap maybe, so... All in all, it was a misunderstanding!", she concluded looking meekly at her right to see if he was annoyed with her rambling but she doubted she saw a little quirk of his lips, as he was biting a smile back. But his expressions went blank again when she said the next words, unknowingly, "I didn't really know you.", his expressions darkened, making her wonder if she said anything wrong.
She really didn't know him, or else she would have recognised him and not created that mess.
"I mean, if I knew that you are Mr. Malik's son, I would have recognised you and not insulted you. I am really sorry.", his answer to all her rambling was silence.
Deep and kind off uncomfortable silence.
She didn't know if he was still angry or what was he feeling. Wheather he has accepted her apology or not.

She decided to keep her mouth shut for the rest of the ride, not wanting him to get annoyed and leave her on the road, god knows where.

Her eyes moved across the hall, as silently as she can, making sure nobody noticed her trying to find a certain face among the crowd of thousands of faces.

She had not expected to find the person here, in these circumstances atleast, but when she did, it would be an understatement to say she was shocked.

Finally meeting the pair of similar ocean blue eyes, a shiver ran down her body, finding him already looking at her with unwavering gaze as if he had been looking at her for a long time, only her.

Reluctantly diverting her eyes from him, she focused on tonight's center of attraction, her bestfriend Arushi and her soon to be fiance, Aditya Kapoor.
They both had been in a relationship for almost 3 years now, when they decided to take their relationship onto the next step. He had proposed to her recently and both the families couldn't be more happy. They have been really supportive about their relationship since they introduced each other to their families.

It was just a small ring ceremony including both families and close friends. The rituals were gonna start from after a week, the wedding date being of after a week and four days.

Aditya Kapoor is a renowned name in the architecture world, being in the list of top 5 prominent architects of the world.
They had met through a common friend, someone she can't really remember but as long as her friend was happy, she was glad they met.

What she didn't expect from this arrangement was the person whom she wanted to desperately avoid, being non-other than the bestfriend of her bestfriend's boyfriend, soon to be fiance.

Was it a coincidence that they both were twinning right now?

"Let's begin the ceremony, shall we?", she heard Mrs. Kapoor, Aditya's mother say looking at Mrs. Khanna, Arushi's mother while the latter agreed. She helped Arushi stand and fixed the small wrinkles on her lehenga, giving her a final touch up, before the ceremony started.
