"रूह से चाहने वाले आशिक़
बातें जिस्मों की करते नहीं"

[Note :- This chapter is going to be a mix of third person's p.o.v, i.e author's p.o.v and Iman's p.o.v, depending on the situation.]

✿

Iman's p.o.v :-

"It was just a drunk mistake."

Only I know how heavy the weight of those words are.

I feel a weight on my chest, something so painful that it makes it difficult for me to breath. My lungs make a desperate attempt to intake oxygen but it comes out as ragged breathing.

Those doe eyes filled with tears, her continuously swallowing the lump in her throat, eyes dilating and the little quiver in her every move, makes my legs week and I feel like collapsing.

But it had to be done.
It was necessary, necessary for me to take a step back when I fully crossed the line I made in between us.
The walls around me collapsed for a moment but I need to cement it again.

This is for the best.

Third person's p.o.v :-

The haldi function takes in full swing, with background music playing, flower garlands hanging around, yellow and white satin curtains flowing in the air.

The crowd hoots as the bride makes an entry, dressed in a light yellow saree, hair in a french braid and flower jewellery.

She takes a seat in one of the two big tumblers kept in the centre of the garden with a stool kept in each, while Aditya sat in the other one.

While the friends taking big chunks of haldi and slithering it fully over their faces and all body parts exposed to their reach.

"Arey meri jigri dost kahan hai? Where's Nurvi?", she asks while trying to locate her in the crowd of people.

[Where's my bestfriend?]

Her eyes lights up when she sees her coming towards her, cutting through the crowd.
But the smile on her face turns into a frown seeing her tear struck face, "Kya hua? Ro kyu rahi hai?"
"I'll miss you...", she whispered and hugged her close to herself.
