Nurvi's p.o.v :-

The car stops in front of the huge mansion, Rao Mansion.
Many cars lined next to each other, people getting out and going inside after handing the velvets the car keys.

I stepped out of mine, "Take the luggage inside.", I said as I handed the velvet my car keys, before making my way in.

Moving in, I found the mansion shining bright with all the decorations. Circular moving tables, a bar setup at one side with bartenders doing tricks while the other side had some magicians entertaining the kids.
People stood in groups with champagne and wine glasses in their hand, while waiters moved around serving refreshments.

I made my way through the crowd once I spotted mother at a far corner, talking with some of her friends.
I passed a nod and smiled anytime someone greeted me, but they cannot see the smile that I'm faking.

You can say I'm not a big fan of crowds or parties, especially the one organised by your parents on their new success.
That just leads to unwanted attention and judgemental career questions.

"Hello, mother.", I'm met with a beautiful woman in her early 50's, with light makeup on, classy diamond jewellery, draped in just as beautiful gown.

And then she looks at me with clear judgement in her eyes, which made me subconscious about my choice of clothing.
A-line black pants, with white shirt tucked inside and some pointed heels.

I have made quiet an effort to look good, knowing about this party but I guess it wasn't enough.

And even though I'm the one doing fashion designing course here, it seems like she has more knowledge about fashion.
At least that's what she thinks.

But being standing in front of a huge crowd, she pastes a fake smile on her face and takes me into her arms, while I pretend just as excited as she is.

"Oh, my lovely baby!", that just made me feel like pucking, but I broaden my smile as she moves back to look at me, making me bend to kiss my forehead.

I swear I'm going to be diabetic every time she shows me so much of 'fake' love.
"I missed my daughter so much", she says sweetly but her grip on my forearm tell another story. She's practically digging her nails into my skin and it hurts like bitch.

And I am in utter disbelief at her acting skills as tears starts forming in her eyes, while she takes me into a hug again.
She deserves nothing but an Oscar.

"What the hell are you wearing?", she murmurs through greeted teeth, her hand patting my head and I control the urge to roll my eyes.

There she is!

"Go upstairs and change into the black gown I bought for you last month.", she moves back with her fake smile plastered again and urges me to go up with her twitching eyes.

I respond with the same fake smile and bid goodbye to her friends before making my way up to my room.

I enter my room and find my luggage already there.
I had gone to a college field trip but was called even before the trip ended.
