Was it left or right?

Nurvi thought standing at the end of hallway which splits into two ways from there. She was currently trying to find the room where all the marriage rituals stuff were kept and couldn't remember which side Mrs. Khanna had told her.

They had travelled from Delhi to Udaipur, Rajasthan for destination wedding of Arushi and Aditya, and it was the beginning day of marriage rituals, with a small pooja.

Trusting her instincts, she turned her heels to the right hallway, entering in the room which was comparatively silent than those which had guests residing in them. Khanna and Kapoor family had booked the whole resort for their stay.

But the room didn't seem the one she was finding, dimly lit with no stuff whatsoever, rather all she found was a opened suit case kept on the bed with a pair of kurta kept out on the ironed bedsheet.
Her futile attempt to sneak out of the room without the possible owner of the room knowing went down the drain when the door knob of the bathroom twisted and came out the men whom she was so very much dreading to see.

Why does she keep stumbling in his room?

Turning her body towards the main door, she closed her eyes and counted backwards, as if the ticking of a bomb.
A shiver ran down her spine when she heard the same gruff voice of his,
"Nurvi...", it's the first time he ever took her name.
She even thought for once of the possibility of him not knowing her name.

"Ms. Rao", she heard the clearing of his throat as if he too realised that he had just called her by her name, but him addressing her by her name felt natural. As if he had done it before, many times. "Have you lost your way...again?", now he is mocking her! Great!

"It's not my mistake that all the rooms here look alike. Anyone can get lost and by the way, it's your mistake too!", blaming him for a mistake which according to her wasn't even a mistake seemed the only option to save herself from getting embarassed, again.
"Mine?", "Uhm...if only you had locked your room, I wouldn't have entered in the first place."

By now he must have been tired too of her continuously coming in his way but this wasn't in her hand. "Where were you going earlier?", she heard him sigh and that's the second only thing he does in her presence.
Sigh and rise an eyebrow.
"The room where all the rituals stuff and gifts are kept.", she huffed, "It's the second room on the left. You entered 'the one' on the right."

"Right...",
"It's left...", teasing her wasn't what she expected him to do! Not wanting to get even more embarrassed because of her ability to speak wrong things at the very wrong time, she made her way to the room she had been looking for.

Carefully balancing the big platter, she took nervous but cautious steps, her total focus on the work in her hand ignoring the fact that she was near the staircase.

🚨[हम आपके है कोन movie ke scene ka repeat telecast nahi hoga, dw...]🚨

And all of sudden the floor beneath her feets disappeared and all she knew the next moment was the her in air while she tried to hold onto something to balance herself with but due to the platter, her efforts were futile and in the process of balancing her arms besides her, the platter slipped off and fell down the stairs, it's voice ringing in the empty hallway.

But her body seemed to be freezed in midair when she no longer felt herself falling down the stairs and some of her bones breaking like she anticipated, rather an arm around her waist draped tightly as it managed to balance both of them.

Oh, how she loved those similar ocean blue eyes right now...

Heartbeat accelerated, sweat buds appearing on her forehead when she saw Iman holding her tightly while his face distraught and breathing laboured as if he had ran here to save her.
Tightly clutching the collar of his shervani, she brought herself close to his chest and as if the touch breathed life into both their lungs, they sighed a sigh of relief.

"Oh God! Nurvi...", she heard his voice from above her head while he tightly hugged her body to his. "Are you okay??", the desperation and concern was evident from his voice.
"Nahi! Tum theek nahi ho...", he said looking at her pale wan and pale face, devoid of its usual charm and glow. "Let's..let's go to the hospital. Humein doctor ko dikhana hoga... Let's go!",

In his concentration of making sure that she wasn't hurt anywhere and her still trying to process everything around her, none of them realised their position and how by now everyone had gathered around them, hearing the sound of the platter running down the stairs, spilling every ingredient it held on it's way.

"Iman!", his frantic rambling halted when someone held his shoulders aggressively, "She's okay..."
And as if his trance has broken, she saw him jerking back, taking a step back and turning to disappear in the very room she had come out from earlier, with only one thought running through her mind.

He cares about me...

Hey guys!
So here's the 7th part of "Stay With Me".

Here our cold ml has finally shown some real emotions and fl has realised it too...
HE CARES ABOUT HER!!!😭💅🏻

Do you guys think my chapters are too short? Do I need to write more?
I think if the chapters are too long it would take more time and you guys might get bored. But do tell me, if I need to make changes.

And this story is a little fast, because I can't handle slow burn romance, like you gotta wait for 20 chapters for ml and fl to kiss and then they act as if nothing happened. I literally can't!

But this fast ⏩ pace is only for the starting, it'll have a nice plot and backstory, I hope you'll enjoy...

Stay tuned!
Enjoy reading...
