Dear Possum,

Dude, Harlin's grandson is great! He's a super shy kid. He's fourteen, but he's really good at fishing and hunting. He watched me go through my day. Must be interested in it or something.

His grandmother spoiled him whenever she could at dinner. She wouldn't hardly let me talk to him. She threatened to kick me out if I bothered him. So I didn't, but I learned a bit about him from Harlin.

His name's Robert Cowall, apparently his last name used to be Simonson, but his mom changed it back to Cowall because his parents are getting divorced. Harlin has the same last name so I figured he's his mom's dad. What's pretty neat is that Robert says everyone just calls him "Crow" back at home in Dallas. He's always liked the bird.

It'd be neat if I could tell him me and you just went by Rat and Possum. He'd probably like us. No one knows about you yet, by the way. I haven't trusted anyone that much yet.

So anyway, "Crow" had to go home after dinner tonight. His mom picked him up. She talked to me a bit. Very sweet lady.

Probably an inappropriate thing to say, but she was really pretty. I could see myself dating someone like her, or just HER, Possum. She was beautiful, and sweet, and her son is obviously pretty cool. She was really suspicious of me, but after hearing about how Harlin took me in and how I've been helping with the house, she isn't so miffed about me anymore. Honestly Possum, she's absolutely perfect. What kind of man would treat such a good woman as a doormat?

A fool, that's what I say.

From, Rat.
