Yun Sheng arrived at the Bai family’s residence in Lin’an Prefecture. Standing on a beam, he looked around, searching for any trace of Bai Sijin.
Suddenly, a young boy in green clothes darted out from under the eaves and yelled at Yunsheng while standing with his hands on his hips, “Who are you? Sneaking around like a ghost, get down from there!”
Yun Sheng’s patience wore thin. He grabbed the boy’s clothes and lifted him upside down.
The boy, struggling and swaying, shouted, “Ah! Let me go! You, you!”
Yun Sheng slapped him on the head, “You foul-mouthed brat, what kind of parents raised you?”
The boy’s face turned red, “None of your business! Hmph!”
Yun Sheng squinted his eyes, “Are you also a snake demon in this mansion?”
The boy, caught off guard, immediately fell silent.
“Small demons like you, I’ve crushed hundreds of them before.” Yun Sheng threw the boy onto the grass, “Lead me to find Sujin.”
The boy stumbled to his feet, pouting at Yun Sheng, extremely unwilling, and begrudgingly led the way.
The two of them arrived at the lakeside, with a pavilion standing in the middle of the lake. It was connected to the shore by a bamboo bridge. The pavilion was adorned with layers of gauzy curtains, fluttering like clouds and mist.
A man in white sat inside the pavilion, writing on yellowish paper with a focused and serious expression.
Yun Sheng leaped across the lake, wielding his sword towards the man, “Evil-doer, prepare to meet your end!”
A transparent barrier appeared out of thin air, forcibly keeping Yun Sheng outside.
Seeing Yun Sheng restrained, the boy felt a sense of satisfaction. But in the presence of Bai Sijin, he dared not even let out a fart.
A few days ago, he had insulted Xu Xuancao and was hung on a tree by Bai Sijin to cool off. It was quite an experience for three whole days.
The boy no longer dared to stand in Bai Sijin’s way and didn’t dare to say a word about Xu Xuancao, being cautious even with cursing.
Yun Sheng tried to break through the barrier with his spiritual power but found that the barrier was getting tighter and tighter.
His heart grew cold as he felt the opponent’s powerful magic, like a huge invisible hand that seized his limbs, rendering him immobile.
It turned out that the evil-doer was so powerful, yet he pretended to be weak in front of Xu Xuancao. Yun Sheng grew angry and humiliated, “You bastard, how dare you bully my little Cao Cao.”
Upon hearing Xu Xuancao’s nickname, Bai Sijin seemed to suddenly awaken. He paused his writing, raised his head, and looked at Yun Sheng, “Is it you?”
Yun Sheng observed Bai Sijin, sensing a hint of confusion and bewilderment in his expression, which struck him as strange.
If things weren’t going well on Xu Xuancao’s side, could this evil-doer also be suffering?
Bai Sijin rubbed his eyelids, revealing a trace of fatigue.
Having gone sleepless for several days, his vision was blurred, and even the azure sky appeared grey and hazy to him.
He let out a sigh of relief and softly inquired, “Before she went into seclusion, did she say anything to you?”
Yun Sheng stared at him in astonishment, “How do you know that Caocao went into seclusion? Did you plant a spy in the Guiyun Sect? You truly have wicked intentions!”
Bai Sijin chuckled lightly, unwilling to say more.
Once labeled as an evil-doer, he became someone perceived as scheming and full of sinister plots in the eyes of others.
That’s why he had never explained the truth to Xu Xuancao. He only wanted to gradually warm her heart with sincere intentions.
But it was too late now. She knew everything, and she completely misunderstood his true feelings.
Bai Sijin waved his wide sleeve and placed Yun Sheng back on the ground, “Can you deliver a message for me?”
Despite being in a superior position and fully capable of controlling Yun Sheng, his gentle voice revealed a pleading tone.
Yun Sheng was taken aback, “What is it?”
Bai Sijin’s gaze pierced through the sky, reaching the distant green mountains and dense forests, where the mountain gate was sealed.
“Tell her that I have been waiting here for her.”
“Waiting for her to surrender to me.”
