Ricky woke up the next morning terrified.

Sure, not waking up to an actively loud and disruptive Bambi sounded like heaven when Gyuvin first moved into the dorm. But now that they were friends—and sort of even more than that—it was different.

Everything is different. Especially not making breakfast for Gyuvin in the morning.

Ricky did his whole morning routine with a frown on his face, practically refusing to move even though he knew doing something was better than not doing anything at all. That something in Ricky's consciousness was apologizing to Gyuvin for the complaint.

Ricky was confused beyond the point of normality. He wasn't going to deny that they lacked communication by a great deal, but even with communication in the picture, he was bound to remain puzzled.

Hence why he was making his way to the sophomore hallway. He knew that Gyuvin talked to a good amount of freshmen and sophomores for someone in his junior year, so Ricky's only chance at getting even a slight insight as to what happened was through the one and only Han Yujin.

And, to Ricky's absolute misery, Matthew seemed to be standing right next to Yujin. Double shot to the heart, triple point to the brain.

The more I hurt myself, the more I can avoid hurting Gyuvin. Ricky concluded internally.

"Han Yujin, right?" Ricky spoke up softly, not wanting to drag attention to himself. "And you're, uh, Matthew." He grimaced at the memory of him failing to scold the older guy a couple of weeks back.

The duo remained silent. Ricky almost sighed at the wordless response. The only reason he didn't was that he needed answers and he knew going to Hao would be even more futile than going to either of the two in front of him.

"I guess you don't want the small talk..." he whispered and crossed his arms in the most nonchalant way possible. He then realized that he should be more emotional to prove that he wasn't as indifferent to Gyuvin's feelings as everyone thought. "Is Gyuvin okay? He wasn't at the dorm last night and I—"

Ricky was ripped right out of his train of thought when he saw Yujin shake his head slowly. The look on Matthew's face was even more humbling.

They can't tell me. Ricky thought. No, no. They don't want to tell me.

Ricky stared at the two with a genuinely hurt look on his face. He was well aware that he of all people should not be offended in the slightest, but he couldn't help himself. He thought of himself as one of Gyuvin's friends. Even though he'd never admit it, he had a really good time with the younger guy.

It hurt to see him being shut out as though he were an outsider.

"Okay," Ricky let out like a breath. "Thank you."

Later that day, Ricky got a message from Zhang Hao. Unfortunately, it wasn't about Gyuvin. It was about basketball practice being extended to every day.

Something about adjusting to new changes being made in the sports department. Ricky couldn't care less. He was just glad to know that he had a chance to see Gyuvin. He knew the guy wouldn't miss basketball practice for the world because, at that moment, basketball was his world.

Making his way to the gymnasium, he thought over what he would say if he got the chance to talk to Gyuvin. An apology? An explanation?

Shit, I don't know...
