Today was a sad day. It was raining and dreary outside of the Manor. Serena looked out the window as she watched the rain run down the large windows. Serena put her hand on the window remembering that day before she left for the train for her 1st year of hogwarts.
Serena had woken up at the crack of dawn to make sure she was up early enough be able to catch a taxi to make to Diagon Alley when the shops open. She had slipped on a black dress and a Jean jacket and her boots. She threw her long hair into a ponytail and brushed her teeth. She grabbed the bag of money her father had given to her the night before put in her jacket pocket. Hoping he had given her enough for all her items. She then walked down stairs to see her stepmother sitting by her father, feeding her grapes. She rolled her eyes, disgusted at the sight.
"You're up early?" Her father asked. Serena was shocked. Her father hardly noticed her existence.
"I'm going to Diagon Alley for my school stuff. I'll be back later." She told him.
"Have fun." Was all he said as her stepmother giggled.Serena walked a far distance before getting a taxi giving them the address. It was a magical taxi so she didnt have to worry about converting her Wizards money to Muggle money. The taxi driver was nice. He asked her how was she enjoying starting school and if she was nervous.
She most definitely was. "I am." She told the man Truthfully. "But I think I'll be okay once I get there."
"Do you have a ride there? Or are your parents bringing you?"
Serena shook her head. "I'll just have to figure it out again."
"Tell you what, kid. I'll come get you at 10 tomorrow morning in the same spot. Free of charge." The taxi driver told her.
"Thank you. You're every kind." She replied accepting his offer.
"No problem kid."
They made it to the destination and Serena paid her fee. Telling the man she would see him tomorrow.
"Hey, kid?"
"Yes, sir?" She replied to the man, politely.
"Make sure you go to Ollivanders first. A young bright witch like you needs a wand."
She smiled at him. "Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow."
"See ya kid. And stay out of Knockturn Alley."
She got out of the taxi and shut the door and made her way to Ollivanders. Diagon Alley was the most interesting place she ever seen. All the magic around her. She's never seen so many Wizards and Witches in one place. She laughed as she was circled by some magical birds somebody enchanted. "I'm sorry, darling."
She looked up to see a bearded man. "Its okay. Um, I'm sorry, could you help me find a place? Ollivanders?"
The man smiled. "Just keep going down the strip and it's right there on the left."
"Thank you sir!"
"Have a wonderful School year!" The man said he walked along. She thanked him and made her way to Ollivander's.
She was relieved to have finally make it. She walked into the store to see an older gentlemen looking through the wands. "Miss Cromwell, it's a pleasure!" The man greeted her.
"How did you know who I am?"Ollivander turned around smiling at the girl. "I just know, Miss Cromwell. You're looking for a want to start school?"
She nodded. "Yes sir."
