Just Take Care of Her

Steve's POV:
       It was a bit slow at the DX as only a few cars had pulled up for some oil changes and gas. Sodapop and Steve were outside talking when Ponyboy got there with Dally and Johnny.
        "Hey gentlemen" Dally greeted as he rested his arm on one of the pumps.

         "What brings you guys over here?" Steve asked

      "Well, we were just in the neighborhood and thought we'd stop by" Dally answered as he lit a cigarette

   "You guys aren't looking for trouble, are ya? Sodapop questioned while turning to look at Ponyboy

Dallas put his arms around Ponyboy and Johnny as he spoke, "What if we are? these two should learn to live a little once in a while" causing Sodapop and Steve to chuckle.

"Darry would have a fit if Pony got into any more" Soda added as he looked at Steve who was surprisingly quiet as he looked lost in thought.

   "What's on your mind Stevey boy?" Soda asked as the rest looked at him waiting for a response. Steve sighed as he began to talk once more.

  "I just don't know what to do for Aila's birthday tonight, her and Twobit's parents are so strict already but you guys know how even Two reacts if I'm with her for more than a minute." Steve worried as he looked at the guys

   "What if you guys had a party at the Curtis house?" Johnny questioned

"That ain't too bad of an idea Johnny" Soda said as he smiled

"We'll just make sure it's a suprise for both her and him, Twobit might get upset if he knows Steve is involved in the planning so if he asks Darry let us throw the party" Pony said as the guys nodded in agreement.

"Party's On Boys!" Dally shout as the guys cheered

Aila's POV:
    Sodapop had asked Twobit and I to come over tonight so I was getting ready to go as I tried finding my heels, the red ones, not the pink ones I usually wore to school. It being my birthday I knew something was going on but I was still as excited as I knew who would most likely be there.

        "Are you almost ready Aila?! I heard Twobit shout from the other room.
      
      "Hold your horses I'll be right out!" I shouted back as I sprayed some perfume Twobit had swiped for my birthday and ran out into the living room.

        "You look nice sis but we're going to be late for the par...let's just go" Twobit said as he opened the door. I smiled as we hurried over to the Curtis house. As we walked in the boys shouted "Suprise!" as I felt a bit emotional and couldn't stop smiling. My parents wouldn't have done any of this but these guys took me in and treated me like a princess.

      "Happy Birthday Aila" Steve said as he walked over with a bouquet of roses. I thanked him and gave him a big hug which was apparently too big since Twobit got upset and walked into the kitchen for a beer with Darry. We stayed in the living room watching TV.

Twobit's POV
   "Thanks for throwing this party for her Darryl" Twobit said as he got a beer from the fridge

     "Not me, Steve over there ran all over town looking for ballons and decorations although Ponyboy and Johnny did help me make a cake" Darry said causing Ponyboy to give him a look.

      "Randle?" Twobit questioned as Aila passed by him and poured some soda that was sitting on the kitchen table.

  "Mickey's on by the way Two" Aila said as she drank her soda and began talking to Ponyboy about a book she had borrowed from him a couple days back. Twobit started walking toward the living room and sat next to the guy he couldn't seem to like or hate at the moment.

    "Just take care of her Steve" Twobit finally said as he watched the TV

   "You know I will Two" Steve answered with a smile on his face.
