Iris and Pansy walk down to DATDA (Defense against the Dark Arts) and slump into their seats.

"We're switching seats." Snape walks in flicking his wand and, all the candles light up.

The class groans softly.

"If you complain one more time this seat change will be even worse."

This time the class stays silent.

Snape says where everybody is sitting in a annoying slow voice.

"Potter and Zabini." Lucky Potter, Blaise is actually nice. "Parkison and Granger." This will be interesting. "Iris and Malfoy." EXCUSE ME!? "Weasly...." Iris tunes him out as Malfoy sits next to her.

"Great." He mutters. "I have to sit with you."

"Great. Really great, this is just perfect." Iris says sarcasticlly

Malfoy narrows his eyes. "This isn't the time for Sarcasm Iris." He snaps. "What is your last name? " he huffs. "Nobody but you get a called by their first name by Any professor."

"And why would I tell you?" She rolls her eyes.

Ashamed are you? Of your lineage? Of where you come from? From what you know you can do? Pity I though you were strong at one point. It's a shame I HATE being wrong but you are an exception.

Malfoy scoff. "Your weak. Your probably a nobody with no money and nothing to your family name, your probably worse than the Weasly's, your probably poorer than poor but won't tell us your last name because your ashamed."

"Malfoy, are you talking in my class?" Snape appears behind them. "5 points from Slytherin." He says slowly, like always. "Speak again and I'll make it 10." He says as Malfoy opens.his mouth. "Now pay attention and pray you actually learn something."

Malfoy glares at Iris who acts indifferent.

Iris POV
*Gasps We actually have a first person POV*

I rest my head on my hands, I HATE Professor Snape, but in this moment he's my favorite teacher.
Malfoy was pushing my buttons, it's like he has inside knowledge of how to fucking tick me off, that bugger. Not only was he ticking me off he hit a sore spot.
I am ashamed of my family.
Most of these days I spend wishing I was never born. Well expect for my Mum, she tried her best even though her best wasn't always what a growing child needed.

"Miss. Iris, is this wall more interesting than my lecture?" Snape drones out.

Fuck
"And what if I say Yes?" I say calm and collected.

Snape's face goes slightly red as the class snickers.

"Detention Miss. Iris." He says his voice equally as calm.

"Bummer." I roll my eyes. "That totally sucks." I honestly don't care about detention, I've only gotten it once, (for being late) and Snape didn't even do anything, he's all bark and no bite.

Snape glares at me. "Miss. Iris, Do you want another detention and house points being taken?"

This time I keep my mouth shut, not because I'm a wuss but because I know how to pick my battles.

"That's what I thought."

I raise my hand a, fake, apologetic look on my face. "Professor? I'm sorry for being rude and not listening during class." I say softly acting like I really care what he thinks.
