Snow had pilled up upon the roofs of the houses in the small village of the country not many knew about. It wasn't a poor village, it was filled with fields of fruits and magnificent towering trees over the lands but in almost every country you knew of every beautiful thing the lands had were taken away

But not in this village, in this part of the country everyone was taught to cherish the plants the god has given us and so the beauty thrived almost everywhere...including in you

You were the oldest daughter of the man who owned the fields of fruits but even with such gifts your father was unfortunately a man who was rather attached to alcohol then to his mind which forced your younger brother to take over the business since he was the eldest son which you didn't mind one bit

The fields belonged to your brother but he had handed you the bakery your father had owned, he knew you were the more skilled sibling out of the three of them, indeed you also had a younger brother who had turned eighteen a few months ago.

You were a 25 year old woman with both the dedication to run the bakery and make sure no one in the village went through the night with an empty stomach, you were certainly a loved being in the village amounts the people

"That will be five dollars"

You told the young child in front of you the price of the bread he had just purchased

You watched in amusement as the child tried counting both the coins in his palm and his fingers to try and come to the price you just told him

you held back a small laugh that was threatening to fall out at the sight of the cute child trying his best to count

With a gently movement you leaned forward and took his hands into your own before placing each coin he had to his other hand, quietly whispering the amount under your breath but loud enough for him to hear. "One...two...three

The coins rounded up to exact five dollars as you placed the money into the box, turning your attention away from the child for just a second but just as you turned back to face him with a smile you were met with his round face covered in warm blush.

His face looking both shocked and nervous causing you to finally let out the laugh you were so badly holding in, making the child look confused. "W-What are you laughing at!"

The child scowled at your laughing expression with the confusion still written on his red cheek, getting himself to turn more red as your fingers pinched his chubby cheeks. He tried swatting your hands away from his face yet he failed miserably

With one last giggle you managed to calm yourself down from your laughing before reaching out to the bowl of candies beside you and handing it to the kid

His face beamed in happiness as he took the candy excitedly before taking off out of the Bakery swiftly

You laughed to yourself quietly at the sight of the child being so happy with something so small, you then turned around to continue your work

You had always enjoyed cooking and baking since you were used to do doing it for your family. Your parents were always a broken couple so when the last line was drawn between them,

Your mother had left without saying anything when you were only the age of ten and since that day you were the woman who took care of the family, from the cooking to cleaning and everything else your mother used to do

You didn't resent your mother, not in the slightest

However you were broken under the pressure by both your emotions and the newly responsibility you had on your shoulders from now on

Soon after the time had passed on to night time you were finally done with your work and meant you could go back home

With a click you locked the doors of the bakery with the lights turned off and the cleaning all finished. The sky had turned completely dark, normally your brother would pick you up but today was an exception since he had some errands to run out of the village

With a small sigh you walked alongs the roads of the village with the stars shining down at you brightly.

You loved the cold breeze that flew through your hair gently and the calmness of the surroundings.

Through your eyes traveling around the sky you noticed a nearby apple tree that had large red apples hanging from its branches. Your eyes sparkled at the delicious sight of the fruit hanging in front of your eyes, you immediately studded your way towards the tree to pick some for home.

Your hands reached out to grab some which you succeeded in since the tree wasn't too far out of your reach

You picked some of the red apples and stuffed them in your bag and held some in your arms since your bag wasn't big enough for all of them. Some apple strudel wouldn't harm anyone even at this time of the night, you absolutely loved it!

You finished picking some of the apples and then continued your way back home before it got too late, you were too busy looking down at the apples in your arms that you didn't realize that someone was right in front of you, causing the person to land on his knees and the apples out of your arms.

"Oh my! I'm so sorry sir!"

You immediately apologized before kneeling down beside the man with your hand reaching out to his shoulders to guide him back on his feet.

With your hands gripping his rather muscular biceps you lead him back up from his knees, letting you take in his appearance more clearly.

The man was clothed in a formal suit and a hat, clearly being a wealthy person and not from these lands. To your confusion his head was held low, not even glancing at you once which caused a nervous feeling in your stomach...was he so mad?

"I-Im so sorry! I wasn't paying any attention..." you apologized once again to the man with your voice getting lower in sympathy and lowness

A small gasp fell out of your mouth as he finally lifted his head to meet your eyes...his face was masked with only one of his steel colored eyes showing itself to you

Silence overtook the two of your none breaking eye contact completion, none of you looking away for even a single second before your broke it with your eyes traveling across the bandages on his face however you then realized the close proximity between the of you causing you to pull away quickly

You grabbed two of the apples that had fell from your purse, rubbing off the dirt that had covered some parts of them before reaching out to grab one of the man's hands. Your warm skin came in contact with his cold one with a single touch as you placed the two apples in his palms

"Here have these..good night sir!"
