The chattering of people talking around the mass market makes you more aware of your surroundings as you tighten your grip on Matthew's hand as the two of you happily walked along the sides of the crowded area to avoid mingling too much with people. It was rather cheerful day today with the sun shining brightly at the people down below making it even warmer than it already was yet it was also quite the delight to walk around and just enjoy the presence of the bright sun. The weather surprised the people of the country since it was in the middle of February, everyone had expected it to be freezing cold as usual in the last years.
You enjoyed every type of season to be truthful since every they all had a comfortably atmosphere but if you had to pick one then it would be autumn since it was a mixture of warmth and coldness
But since today the sun decided to shine upon the village greatly it was the perfect opportunity to go around the land and buy some needed stuff for home so you went along and even took one of your nephews with you while the other was away with your brother. He had mentioned that it was some simple meeting with other business men that didn't really interest you in the slightest.
"Mhm...why don't we buy some fish and the fruits? I think then we should all be settled..." you murmured under your breath with your eyes focusing on some of the multiple fruits under the shores of the stand with an old man standing behind it. The mere sight of the oranges and apples together made your mouth start to water before you composed yourself as you started to think about all the stuff you could create with them
With a gentle tone you asked the man for some of the fruits which he gladly accepted before you took your nephews hand and made your way back out of the mass market after also buying some fish on the way too.
The heat slowly started to get to you as sweat formed on your forehead making you huff under your breath as the two of you made your way along the side of the road back home. Your carriage who had driven you here unfortunately had to leave because of some circumstances so you and Matthew had the honors of walking back home under the sun but you didn't mind it too much since you didn't leave too far away from the mass market.
"Auntie that carriage is back!"
Matthew exclaimed while tucking on your hand and stopping in his tracks with his head turned back to where an unfamiliar carriage riding up to where you were. It was still usual to see carriages around the villages since the newly found cars were still evolving and not used too much by the people.
You squinted your eyes to take a closer look at the carriage to find out what your nephew meant with 'back' when you finally realized that you had actually seen the carriage a few times in the mass market. It was a light carriage which did seem rather familiar like you had seen it before but no ideas popped up in your mind at all so you just pushed away your thoughts and continued walking along the road.
However as you walked the carriage didn't seem to ride along but rather just go along in the same pace as you which made you tighten your grip on your nephews hand while picking up your pace right before a voice called out you...a rather familiar one...
"Lady Y/N!"
You turned around just to see a familiar blonde boy smile brightly at you while peeking his head through the carriage entrance with a small wave to catch your attention.
What was Armin doing here?
"Oh! I didn't know it was you!" You smiled right back at him while walking closer to the carriage to listen to the young man who stepped out of the carriage to greet you properly which you took as a very kind gesture.
Armin seemed to be handling some of the errands of the rich couple in the village before he would return back to the mansion but as the kind man he was he invited to bring you back home. At first you declined but you just couldn't resist his kind face and besides the warm weather really started to get to you...
Along the way you and the blonde stableboy engaged in a conversation about the manor and all kinds of different interests. Matthew himself seemed pretty found of Armin as he was actually the pretty hesitant young boy but in the presence of him he seemed pretty social and talkative which surprised you at first.
The ride soon came to an end as you thanked Armin for his kind gesture before you watched him ride off with the carriage back to the city.
Time had passed by quickly as the sun slowly but surely started to set in a slow pace but thankfully you and your nephew made it home safely without a single worry and all your supplies bought.
As you entered your house you noticed that your brother and Leon weren't home yet which gave you the perfect opportunity to clean around some of your undone chores but of course before doing so you tucked Matthew into bed since his big eyes were slowly dropping from walking around all day in the heat and you couldn't lie since you were as much as tired as he was but you decided to wait for your brother to return home.
Placing everything back into place and changing your clothes into more comfortables ones you rested on the couch in the living room with tiredness flowing inside your mind but you were quickly woken back up as you heard the front door open. In a swift movement you jumped back off the couch and to the front door to see who it could be, knowing it was probably your brother who had returned from his meeting in the city.
As you expected it was your brother with a sleeping Leon in his arms however...he had a stoic expression on his face which surprised you greatly...did something happen?
You watched as your brother placed the sleeping boy on to his bed while tucking him in before you placed a hand on his shoulder to prevent him from walking away from you." Did something happen?..why are you so quiet?"you asked your brother in a soothing tone to try and convince him to tell you what had happened but to your surprise he kept quiet....
What happened?
