"How much longer will this take?!"

I screamed desperately as I tried to scramble up one of the rocky ledges.

"Come on, Leya! Stop complaining! Just a little while!" Vyn replied, but it was clear that he himself was already puffed up. It was no wonder that in the last few hours something was still not going our way. The first one we managed to get lost in the sparse forest. Vyn nearly sprained his ankle when his leg sank into a hare's hole up to mid-calf.

To make matters worse, as we fearlessly walked through Agrona's valley, we were hit by a strong wind storm. Sand and dry clay were all around and there was no place for us to hide behind for a moment. We couldn't even see through it. It was hell. And now? Now we were on the rocky cliffs near Tenebris. Below us, a wild river flowed through the area, bordering the entire area around the castle.

We both held on tight to the cliffs because the last thing we wanted to do was fall down. As we crept around the stone cliff walls. Suddenly bouncing from one to the other, a wave of some dark wind swept Vyn down. I've tried to quickly grab his hand so I could pull him up, but our fingers flickered in tightness but still missed. My pupils contracted, and a scream of panic burst from my throat.

"Vyn!" My bottom lip shivered as his body fell in the water. "Vyn!" I yelled out again. Thanks to God his head peaked on the water surface and relief washed over my body. While I kept my grip on the rocky surface, my gaze did not leave Vyn.

His voice echoed through the area. "Don't stop Leya! Go! Don't worry about me. We will find way to each other soon. Be careful!" Those were the last words I could hear Before he disappeared from my vision. The river took him with it to a place where no light could reach.

"Please be safe." I whispered quietly with my voice shaking. I must go and find him! I loosen my grip on the rocky surface as I made dangerous jump from one reef plateau to another. I scrambled up the mountain like a cat. I was able to engage all my muscles and gradually get to the designated place.

I had two options. I could either choose to go through the underground, but as long as my memory has served me well, in castles like these there have always been and always will be catacombs and endless underground passages. My second option was a back door or window. Anything I could reach in some way.

I looked around searching for my way in. There was one place that captured my interest greatly. It was the mahogany window on the east side of the castle. Instead of solid glass, the window was decorated with a mosaic of small red and patchy pieces of glass. Bingo! That was it.

While I was clinging to the cliff with one hand, I tried to move the window handle with the other. Somehow, they unlock the window. To my surprise, the window opened almost immediately. Something wasn't right here it couldn't have been that simple. I put those thoughts behind me. The main thing was that I was inside.

Now the worst has come. I had no idea, no idea how it could all work. I didn't even know what the king of Odessa looked like! Let alone what his ring looks like.

I rubbed my face roughly with my hands. Finally, I looked around the room. There was a huge dark wood bed in the room, as was all the furniture. In the wood of the table, bed, chair, but also the door, there were carved ornaments in the shape of stars. The walls were painted the darkest black, just like the soft-looking covers on the bed. I stepped down from the window and stood on the mahogany splint, which didn't even creak under my weight. The whole room looked richly decorated with books, but also with a huge mirror that was located just opposite the bed.

But now was not the time to admire the bedroom. I quickly walked to the door and pulled the handle. Strangely enough, the door was not locked. That was only good for me.
