tal was thrown onto the ground of the slytherin common room in a huff, falling right out of the fireplace where she apparated. she was grateful there was no one there.

the common room looked the same, but there was something different about hogwarts. darker. coats and jackets and a spare robe was hung up on a coat rack in the front of the room, but no candles were lit like usual. the atmosphere was dark, and not just because of the common room being slytherin's.

footsteps were heard coming from the boys dormitories, making tal take a dash for the wall by the girls side. here, she was able to peer behind it to see none other than pansy parkinson talking to blaise zabini.

she had to mentally talk herself out of running over and giving the girl a hug.

"and to think after that stupid little brat was the one who was late, i'm the one who has detention!" pansy crossed her arms, visibly frustrated.

pansy wasn't exactly the best student at hogwarts, but she never got dentention.

"just go to detention tomorrow and then lay low." blaise tried, only for pansy to shake her head.

"are you not angry that they did that to you?"

tal's eyebrows furrowed as she got a closer look at blaise's face; just above his eyebrow was an open cut.

"it was my fault." blaise tried. he could see how upset pansy was, and put his hands on her shoulders.

"look; hogwarts has changed. it's something we have to deal with. okay?"

talia was taken back when blaise kissed pansy's forehead. her mind filled with questions; when did they get together?

"i miss talia. it was..different when she was here." pansy sighed. tal's heart stung at the longing of her friend.

"cmon. we have a test to study for." blaise took pansy's hand and led her out of the common room.

blaise has never cared about grades before, and tal knew he was only saying this to get pansy's mind off of things. it reminded her of her and draco.

draco. tal wanted to talk to him, to communicate with him as soon as she could. so, after waiting a few moments when pansy and blaise left, she took a cloak hanging up on the coatrack near the door and threw it over her body, using it as a disguise to sneak away to a part of the castle no one would be near.

she found herself in the fifth floor washroom. it had looked as if no one had been in there in ages, which was perfect. she couldn't have anyone walking in on her.

tal pulled out the book she stole from the back pocket of her pants and returned it to its original form instead of shrunken down.

'advanced legillimency for the strongest witches and wizards'

as she flipped through the pages, she could see mr. lovegood's notes. perhaps he was trying to get in touch with luna. there was one paragraph that stuck out to her in particular.

'telimens; understanding one's mind to connect with them over a great distance. the hardest form of legillimency to complete.'

beside the paragraph was mr. lovegood's scribbles. they were written out in steps, like he was trying to remember.

1-hold wand in opposite hand; dark room; alone

talia looked around at the room's lighting, hoping it would be dark enough. she placed her wand in her non-dominant hand.

2-luna; bubbles; soft spoken; flowers; captured

it was like mr. lovegood was trying to imagine luna, both physically and her thoughts. she would have to do the same with draco.
