"and you have your books, right?" tal asked the small boy in front of her. he huffed.

"yes, mom." scorpius groaned. he looked at the train eagerly.

"dad. why can't i go to school with scorpius?" the girl next to draco wondered. he looked down at her, smiling. talia kissed her son on the forehead.

"next year, mary. it'll be here before you know it." he reassured.

draco patted scorpius on the shoulder, but gave him a hug anyway. both him and talia were afraid to be standofish like their parents were when they first got on this very same train years ago.

"be good. and write us if you need anything." draco said. scorpius nodded.

"i love you guys!" he called, already running for the train with his luggage.

in the busy station, talia felt a body that wasn't draco's very close to her. when she turned, she saw pansy parkinson and blaise zabini standing there.

"hi, aunt pansy." mary smiled. pansy chuckled.

"hi, mary. and hello, mr. and mrs. malfoy." she said. she pulled talia into a hug. blaise hugged her as well and patted draco on the shoulder.

"had scorpius run off?" he asked. draco nodded.

"carmen and marco, too. they're so eager to get to hogwarts." pansy added in.

tal looked at draco as he smiled down at her.

"just like we were." he said.

platform nine and three quarters continued getting busier with students and their parents. in the distance, talia could see hermione with ron and harry with ginny. they were dropping off their kids as well, and smiled at her. she knew hermione and ginny would write her later.

but, now, she would have to leave the train station and head out with draco, both of them having promised pansy and blaise they would go out to eat with them after they dropped off their kids.

it was a strange but happy feeling as tal and draco looked around at the busy station. not too many years ago, like draco said, they were here in these kids spots.

after the battle of hogwarts, talia suffered with ptsd and grief. but the sadness was replaced by happy moments when she married draco and had her two kids. now, she takes them to visit mary, walter and jane's grave, and draco tells them about all of the adventures that they did together.

and, now, she was dropping off her own son. and it felt like she wasn't just finishing a chapter of her life this time;

but finishing a story.
