Chapter

It was lunch time at McKinney High on the 1st day of November.

~Hey Lightning,~ Phoenix said, ~I've got to tell you something.~

~What's that?~

~I learned---DUCK!~

He pushed her down just as Draco tried to grab her hair.

~What was that about?~

~Draco just tried to swipe at your face.~

They turned around. "What are you doing?" Lightning asked.

"Um... Nothing?"

"That's not what it seemed like."

"How did you know that I was behind you?"

"That's for me to know and for you to never find out."

He stood there for a moment and just when she thought he was going to leave, he grabbed her hair and pulled it back for everyone to see.

Everyone became silent as they stared at her scarred face. She got really angry at Draco and the silence was broken with a large gasp.

~LIGHTNING, DON'T!~

Lightning grabbed Draco's arm and twisted it as hard as she could without pulling it off, and then she ran out of the cafeteria. Once she got out of school she flew home, not caring if anyone had seen her. She landed on the balcony to her room, closed her doors, and cried.

-

~Lightning?~ Phoenix flew up to her room and knocked lightly on the door.

She opened the door and came out to sit on the balcony. ~What?~

"Do you still want to train? I was trying to tell you that I learned that I have a sort of well... Sixth sense and I can tell when things are going to happen moments before they do."

"Like Spider-Man?"

"Yeah. Except I can't crawl on walls."

"I guess I'll come train. It wouldn't hurt to get stronger... Did anyone say anything today?"

"There were a few whispers, but not much. Most of them were frightened by how hard you twisted Draco's wrist. The nurse said two of his fingers were broken as well as his arm."

Lightning looked out at the slowly setting sun, "Do you think I can go back to school tomorrow?"

"I think so," Phoenix said, "I mean really, What's the worst that could happen? Come on. Lets go train."

-

"So," Lightning asked, "How does this spider sense work?"

"Humans depend on sight. If you take that away it's pretty hard to adapt. But if a human becomes blind it usually fine tunes their other senses. Last night, I was outside and I was about to feed on someone and it was really dark, but I could hear someone coming up the stairs which I usually can't do. Then I could here the person on the bed. There breathing was slow and peaceful, sort of soothing. Before I could get my food, I heard the person on the steps get ready to open the door, so I bolted right out the window. I'll show you how I did it. I'm going to turn around and close my eyes. I need you to run up to me and try to hit me. But only use human speed."

"OK."

She ran up to him and at the last second he managed to move out of the way.

"Now you."

Lightning closed her eyes and after a moment Phoenix ran up to her. Sure enough, she dodged it.

"How'd you pick that up so fast?"

"I could hear you stepping on leaves, and I could hear your heart beat getting louder as you got closer. Also, your scent got stronger as you got closer." Lightning started crawling up the wall. "I guess I'm Spider-Man too." She grabbed on a vine and swung on it.

"Probably you more than me. I still can't climb walls. Anyways, how we're you able to figure where I was from my scent?"

"Well, I have a really good sense of hearing and smell. All vampires are able to tell what kind of blood type a person is and where that person is. Since no one else anywhere near here is psychic, it is pretty easy to locate you. Speaking of that, I was wondering... Have you ever seen the future?"

"Once, but it's complicated."

"Oh... Because last night I was laying around in my room and I like blacked out or something and a saw this guy had come and killed my parents and I killed him just from saying the word 'Die.'"

"Really?"

"Yeah. But I don't think that could happen."

"You sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure. Will you please tell me?"

"Oh alright, a couple of nights before we moved I had a vision. I didn't know what was going on because it was the only one that I've ever had so far. I saw the house we moved to, but we'd been there already for 2-3 months. I was walking with someone into the forest. When we got there, there was a big flash and I saw something. It looked like some sort of large blue stone. I finally saw the person next to me and she was in shock because she knew what it was. When we moved in and I saw you next door I started freaking out."
