Chapter Eleven - First Time?

The mission was clear. Mercy Flowerpatch, Maximum Vile, and Lee Nova were instructed by Lord Regina to eliminate a novice level Fiend that was causing some trouble for close allies. team RuleBreakers were close on its tail, following its trail to an enlarged area where miners would work at.

"Hey Lee! How do you like the outside?" Mercy, RuleBreaker's Captain asked him. Lee started to blush a little and hesitated to answer at first.

"It-It's a lot more green and less industrial than our village but this particular area feels a bit like home." Lee finally answered.

"Yeahhhhh I see what you mean there." Maximum blurted in. He was the scrawny nerd type and wasn't too adept at actual fighting but is a fantastic strategist. Being older than Lee by a year he still weighed less and was shorter than him. He had brown eyes, light brown braids, and a dark skin tone.

"You guys are so BORING this scenery is amazing not like our old Steampunk of a village!" Mercy replied smiling and twirling around.

Lee continued to blush more as he watched her.

Maximum pressed on his glasses and looked at Lee, they met eyes and he gave him a wide grin.

Lee's eyes widened and he turned his head away quickly, now looking and the many surface level ores that had formed naturally and some mined already.

"Geddon would love this sight." he said to himself grinning.

Then he seen something small move fast across the ground. He thought he was seeing things, so he rubbed his eyes and started to walk towards it. He grabbed one of his daggers he had also gotten from Lord Regina for this very first mission.

The dagger had a silver blade with a dark grey handle.

Clearly seeing it now he seen a very small bear cub in a ball, just like the insects that curl into one.

"Uhhh Captain what is this?!" Lee sceamed to her.

Both Mercy and Maximum ran up to Lee and looked at the creature.

"This is exactly what we're looking for, but the prints and the mission report...this can't be the size of it." Mercy said still staring at it.

Maximum took out small notebook and drew what was in front of them along with information.

That's when another one rolled over to Maximum's foot and stopped.

"Hey there's another one!" he yelled trying not to step on it.

Suddenly Lee grabbed his right arm. "Why does it feel so heavy?" he said.

Mercy held his arm out and looked at it, trying to see if he had touched or scrapped something. She suddenly stopped and looked around frantically.

"Lee! This is the first step of P-"

A large Bear with the back of a Pill Bug came crashing down from a hill and heading straight for Maximum.

"HUHHHHHH?!" He screamed as he saw the enlarged creature colliding with a boulder not far from him.

"THAT'S WHAT WE CAME HERE FOR BOYS!" Mercy yelled picking up her golden Spear. She aim the Spear at the Bear and water from out of nowhere began to drip from the blade.

"Easy enough, Let's get back home quickly!" She threw her Spear at the Bear.

"QUEEN'S TRIDENT"!

Mercy's Spear constructed a wave of water on the tip of the blade and pierced the Bear's belly right before it could take a swipe at Maximum.

"WHY IS IT SO HUGE?!" he yelled seeing the Spear connecting.

Mercy turned around and seen Lee frozen in place. "Hey rookie you can join in whenever ya want to!" she yelled at Lee before going to assist Maximum.

Lee smiled back and ran behind her.

The Fiend continued to screech and retreated to roll into another large stone.

"Tch tough bastard." Mercy said. "Maximum are you alright"?

"Yeah, just almost got SQUISHED TO DEATH!" he cried out.

Lee ran up to them and took another one of his daggers out in his other hand.

"I'm sorry Captain...I froze up." he said staring at the Fiend that was slowly moving back towards them and snarling.

"Hmph." Mercy hummed.

Maximum took the short sword from back holster and hoisted it up, shaking a bit.

'I-I won't let you get all the shine Lee!" he said trying to sound cool.

the beast then started to run towards them. All three of them were ready for their first fight.

"Alright RuleBreakers, after this fight you two won't be rookies anymore"!
